Cars and Trucks do not fly. If you are talking about driving down the road get your steering checked.

2000 olds alero cranks then makes a metal grinding sound and won't start

You need to have your flywheel: replaced.Your starter motor engages against the fly wheel at the back of the motor. Every time your motor stops it tends to be in the same few positions (just the way things work) so there is more stress on some parts of your fly wheel than others. Because of this the teeth wear out on the fly wheel which means the starter can correctly engage on the fly wheel which is the grinding noise.

2000 jeep wrangler wont start

If it won't crank, check clutch safety switch and cables for the starter.
If it cranks but won't start, you'll need to find out if it is ignition or fuel to know where to look next.

Can i put a 1999 montana 3.4 into a 2002 grand am with a blown 3.4

Have a salvage yard check their inter-change manual to see if it is a straight swap. If they say no, it won't, just means it won't be a straight swap. You may still be able to use the block and heads, and swap any necessary parts from your old engine to the new one. I'm thinking a lot of sensors and parts may have different connectors and possibly calibrations, between the two engines.
Good luck.

1996 manual jetta won't start. It won't even crank. There is a whinning noise when I turn the key from the engine but that's it.

Sounds like the starter drive is not fully engaging with the fly wheel... might try to tap firmly on the body of the starter while you turn the key but be careful not to hit the wires... Might get you going enough to get to a garage and have it checked. good luck!

When I pulled the engine in my 1994 Ford Van 4.9 Straight 6 the torque converter came out too. How do I get it off the engine?

There are bolts in between the flywheel and the engine. There should be four, you will have to turn the flywheel to get to the bolts, the converter should have been un bolted before removing the engine

Sierra 1500 wont turn over 350. locked up???

Have the battery tested for a dead cell. It may test at 12 volts but that doesn't mean there isn't a dead cell. Also, if the motor has good compression you probably shouldn't be able to turn it over by hand at the fly wheel. Maybe an old school motor with V belt, but not a newer motor with all those accessories attached to the front.

I have a 1996 Lincoln town car and do not know where to find the starter for it is it under or over

I can tell you that you will need to get under the car, but raise it on jack-stands first, or a lift. You can find it between the transmission and the engine block at the fly wheel. The starter grabs onto the fly wheel teeth to turn the engine over.
It is held in place by a couple bolts.
Be sure to disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid a nasty shock before you start the job. Make sure it goes it straight. It will make a nasty grinding sound if it is in wrong, but not to worry. Just line it up with the teeth. Good Luck!
