Filled gas tank on 97 sunfire and drove 2 blocks. Theft light came on and car stalled. Will not start. Tried turning on key for 10 min and off and then tried to restart, didn't work. Battery seems low.

You never leave a car running, as it will overheat the Exhaust Converter When you run out of fuel, you sometimes ruin the Fuel Pump It depends on gas to lubricate it,as strange as it sounds Check fuel pressure & volume at the motor with a gauge
This 10 minute re-learn process only works if there is a small Hiccup or Glitch in the system. If that 10 minute trick did not work, it means that some part of that antitheft system is legitimately failing and would need to be fixed or bypassed. This link offers 2 different ways to bypass the system. Ive done both of these bypasses dozens of times, they both work and will not hurt the performance of your vehicle http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
I am having the exact same problem with my 97 sunfire! LOL Help! I heard it might be the coil pack or the fuel pump? I hope not the fuel pump. It got towed today...
I think you may have answered your own question. I would check to see if the fuel pump is turning on when you turn the key on to the run position. You should hear a buzz sound coming from the gas tank. I would start there.
You got a tank of bad gas. You need to drain the tank and refill with good gas. If that doesn't resolve issue you need to check fuel pressure to see if the fuel pump gave up on you.
