Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

What causes seeing vertical flashes of light in peripheral vision? This came on suddenly, is random, but mostly at night. I am not in any pain.

4 days ago, as a passenger in a vehicle at night I started ?seeing vertical streaks of light flash randomly in the outer peripheral area of left eye. The driver said there was no flashing light. This happened 3 nights in a row. Also happened a few times when not in vehicle, and I believe even when my eye was closed.

SOURCE: 97' Jeep Grand Cherokee factory alarm going off randomly at night

Replacing the ECU will not require Dealer Intervention Although most folks Like to Buy them From junk yard, I Have Never done That For My Personal Cars or most Customers , as You May Buy the SAME PROBLEM & or More different ones. AND that Solution I would ONLY resort to If,, You have EXHAUSTED "ALL" other Avenues, such as Bad Dome Light Buttons, all it takes is 1 to be Slightly Dirty at the Contacts. I would check them all and there plugs/Connecters etc.I think I'll Do a little more reserch on this
But if I have Helped More or solved this Please Remember to RATE me Thonk you RejakWilson

SOURCE: engine skipping/misfiring, engine light flashing

Drive it into a dark place, or wait till dark. When it's running poorly, see if you can see any spark flying around. It sounds like plug wires.

SOURCE: park lights and dash lights won't stop flashing

There is a small black box under dash by steering column that has a little red button on it. Push that button and it will reset the alarm. Whenever the power is removed from the system it will trigger that alarm and flash your lights. Easy quick fix. Box is about 4" x4" and just to the left of the column. Good luck and have a great day.

Windstar 3.0 2000 stalls randomly when starting engine and randomly hesitates and dies when driving. I can drive several miles without symptoms and suddenly it dies or missfires. Any clues?

My first question is - is the check engine light on? If it is you should have trouble codes stored in the computer that would help direct you to what you should test.
If not, it may be tough to figure out until the problem is constant. Most anything electrical can cause the symptom you describe. Heat, moisture, and fatigue can play a role in the problem.

My 2006 Sonata horn keeps going off and lights flash. I do not have a real alarm. You can "arm" it and go up and wiggle and open the doors and nothing happens, so it is really just a panic...

There could be a problem with any of your door switches, your hood switch or your trunk switch. Scanning your computer network may indicate a fault code that can lead you to the cause.
Also, I have seen similar things happen as the result of a shorted battery cell. If your vehicle battery is 4 years old or more you should replace it. If it is less than 4 years old, it should still be tested.

Again, you might be surprised what you may find in the computer system. Battery related faults will not cause the check engine light to come on, but will cause communications faults and possible "Low voltage at module" codes. Problems with the switches may not set codes. However, you can close the doors, hood, and trunk and read the computer data for the switches to see if they are showing the switches open. NOTE: Most generic code readers cannot access this type of information from your computer network.

The head lights no matter what I try they won't quit slowly flashing. then last night my turn signals suddenly went out, I went to my brothers to see if he could fix these light problems, he got the turn...

Certainly is an unusual symptom. You might try unplugging the headlight switch and replacing it with one from an auto salvage yard. The flashers also might be part of the problem. There are relays under the hood and on the fuse panel but I am guessing you've looked at these already.

My air bag warning light on the dash is flashing whilst i am driving what should i check?

if it just all of a sudden came on one day its most likely the clockspring in the steering column finally wore out......you can have it checked by someone with a obd2 scanner.....if not i would start at the clockspring ...90% of all airbag lights that are on in late 90's cars is caused by that failure.

It sounds like the spring loaded pin that the plunger activates is stuck or broken. If its not to cold tap on the housing and see if it kicks in. If not consult the book for an exploded view. If your manual does not have the view go to the nearest dealers parts department and ask them to print you one.
