1998 T/C rear goes down while car is parked. There is an odor similar to hydraulic fluid. When car starts, compressor runs and rear levels; stays level until motor turned off.

More than likely your rear shock(s) have leaks that cause the compressor to reinflate. A possible explanation for the inflation to only occur while the engine is on is so the battery won't be drained during down time. Probably a protective feature. As for the hydraulic smell, check for signs of leakage under the hood and under the car. Also check your engine coolant for possible leaks.

I am noticing a flashing light on my dashboard. The item flashing is a car with lines coming from behind the car. it is beside d seat belt icon. What does it mean, and how can I fix it?

the symbol with a car and 2 curved lines behind means:
"Slip control" or "Stability control" (also known as ESC, ESP, ASR or DTC) warning.
Toyota Trac Inop Light Toyota's traction control helps you maintain traction on wet, icey, loose or uneven surfaces. There are complex wheel speed sensors that will trigger the traction control safety feature as needed. If you see the trac inop light illuminate, this feature might be disabled. A Toyota service rep can access the trouble code and identify what is needed to fix any potential issues. - See more at: http://jeffwylerclarksvilletoyota.com/section/secondary/toyota-dashboard-indicators#.dpuf

What should the RPM's be @ 60MPH on a 2001

The RPM is a display indicator of vehicle performance in relation to fast moving capabilities.
A vehicle that requires so much RPM has functions explanable

1. multi purpose vehicles like sports utility require more RPM considering the functionality in relation to performance. for example, a sports utility vehicle requiring tow capabilities would be greatly reduced without high RPM considering that builting an engine and structure so rigid would be disproportionate with RPM. The sports utility vehicle for example has multi purposes requiring features the contribute towards achiev ing each additional functionity. The RPM provides the appropaie measure of propertionality in the functionality and especially for an operational guideline.

2. 60 RPM has been the standard for several vehicles of similar capacity and would be drastic measure to increase without any additional vehicle upgrades to complement the entire functionity of vehicle.

When my 2001 GMC Sierra pickup is idling, I press the gas pedal down all the way and the RPMs only go up to 3000. When I'm driving, it works fine. Any explanation for this?

This is a safety feature for the motor. It is called a rev limiter. This is meant to prevent the motor from reving at high rpms when at idle. This is completely normal

I have had a new fuel pump put in my car and now my check engine light is on and I had a test done at Autozone and the explanation states BBInertia switch tripped or open, what needs to be done?

well the inertia switch is a safty feature that shuts the fuel pump off when the vehicle is in a accident. you are gonna have to replace that or reset if possible.

that's a safety feature.... not sure why it didn't work before.... there must be a way to shut it off but i'm uncertain how to do it for that car.
