Question about 2007 Ford Expedition EL XLT

1 Answer

Vibration at Speed.

Same problem with vibration at 70mph and up. 2008 Expedition Limited with less than 50K miles (90% HWY). New tires and balanced 3 times. Road force and alignment is good. Seams to be coming from the rear. Feel it in the seats and a little in the steering. Drive Shaft looks good (no Dents). CV axles look good.

Excessive tire wear vibration in steering I have 80 m miles on car and 3 sets of tires- Dealer says it s tire problem-

Possible causes: Tire or Wheel out of balance, Loose or worn wheel bearings, struts and/or suspension components worn or damaged. 3 sets of tires is pretty excessive and if vibration has been there through most of the sets take a look at the wheel bearings. Has dealer even checked these other areas?

Wheel vibrations at 75+ mph

Most computer controlled tire balancing machines which are in use today only balance tires to between 65/70 miles an hour. To get them balanced to a higher speed you might want to call a few auto performance shops and see if they balance tires to a higher speed. At higher speeds it takes very little in the way of an off balanced tire to really set up a vibration so shake.

Vibration at 70mph after new tires and alignment and much trouble shooting

it could be as easy as checking to see if you have a dented rim.....

or as expensive as changing the "constant velocity joints" but only if it is a front wheel driven car.....

how are your shocks?

have they repacked the rear bearings..."but only if not rear wheel driven car"
