2009 Nissan Murano won't accelerate correctly

I hear a strange noise when I accelerate sort of like a torn or broken belt spinning and the vehicle won't accelerate properly until I'm past 1st/2nd gear

You need to have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes as a first step towards finding the problem. Any Autozone or O'reilly auto parts will do this test for free

How do you know if the starter on 2009 nissan maxima

If it is working correctly it will start the car.

If it is not working correctly, you may hear it spin, you may hear it engage and turn the engine over a few times and then spin unladed, or you may hear nothing.

If you hear nothing and know the battery is fully charged, check to see if any fuses have blown or wires loose.

If starter is loose it will make a great deal of noise.

The timing belt tensioner of my 2005 Nissan Murano is making noise. What should the cost of repair be, and should I have the belt replaced as well?

your vehicle doesnt have timing belt, but it has a chain. i think that you have a problem with upper timing chains, not the tensioner. is the car noisy when you rev it up?? kind of a whining noise?? at about 2000-3000rpm's??
