What kind of problems ?

Posted on Jan 02, 2017

Testimonial: "Turn signals not working all the time. Started with the headlights not working unless the switch handle was held back. Ground connector was changed too."

  • Jeff Armer Jan 02, 2017

Which ground ? location ? G201 is ground point for hazard switch , G101 is ground for front turn lights . G302 is rear lamp ground . Three different ground's for turn an hazard lamps ! You replaced the headlamp switch or dimmer switch ?
When you turn on the headlamps this is a input to the BCM , the BCM then energizes the Headlamp relay .The contacts close inside the relay allowing B+ voltage from dimmer switch to go to ground G201 .
Are you still having problems with the headlamps ? Fuse's in the under hood fuse box supply B+ voltage to the headlamps , goes through headlamps to the dimmer switch . When BCM turns on the headlamp relay the B+ voltage then goes to ground through the relay .

Your steering column has a whole lot of components, and I am very suspicions you have an internal problem in the column, to which all the parts attach.
One option might be to find a good used steering column and change out the whole thing.
I might also think the vehicle had been in a wreck at some time or another, which damaged that column.
God bless your efforts.

I have a 2005 chevy Impala SS and my high and low beams go on at the same time and three of them are dim.

Hello! The "Flash to pass" switch in the Headlight dimmer switch is the most probable cause...When it is activated it turns off the low beams...The dimness can be attributed to a resistive ground in that circuit...but one thing at a time...The turn signal multifunction switch contains the flash to pass switch...Therefore you would replace the multifunction switch...See picture below...Guru...saailer

No blinker lights new bulbs break light switch could it be in the hazard switch on stering

You didn't say what type of vehicle, but should it be a GM alero, malibu, grand am, grand prix, impala, monte carlofull size pick-up, tahoe, suburban, blazer, s-10 or cavalier it probably is the hazard switch. It controls both the signals and the hazard flasher operation. pretty much all models have issues with the hazard or multifunction switches.

For the last five years that I have owned my 2004 Chevy Impala I have had problems with it not wanting to start at certain times, usually and mostly during the summer months, but not all the time. I get...

I had the same thing happen to my impala. It was the sensor in the ignition switch for security purposes. I had too many keys on my key ring, and it caused the ignition switch to not read my key right. Once I had the ignition switch repaired, I don't put so many keys on my key ring. It cost me about $300.

How to reset the low tire pressure light in dashboad on a 2004 chevy impala

There should be a reset button in the fuse pannel. It can be used to reset the low tire pressure light , and the change oil light.
Instructions should be in owners manual , or you can google it.
Chevy dealership should do it for free in my opinion.

04 impala turn signals stop and starti ntermitently

The turn signal flasher is built in to the hazard switch. They are common for going bad. If the turn signals quit again, try pushing the hazard switch on and off a bunch of times really quick. If the turn signals start working again, replace the hazard switch

No lights

Check headlight and high beam switch for power in, power out. If power there, change whichever switch isn't working (remember dimmer switch gets power from headlamp switch) If no power going to headlamp switch check main fuses and fusable links for problems.
