You take it an have it diagnosed and fixed , unless you have a scan tool and service repair information for diagnostic trouble code flow chart . Plus you know how to do automotive electrical testing etc....

SOURCE: limp home mode

You need to scan for engine trouble codes. Most parts stores will do this for free, and tell you what they mean and make recommendations on what to do. The 'limp mode' kicks in to prevent damage to the vehicle when the computer gets data that something is wrong.. When you shut it off, it's temporarily reset, but then the cars computer is signaling there is still a problem, and it goes back into limp mode. If you have any questions after getting the codes 'read' , post questions and code #;s here for help. Good luck.

You have to find what is causing it to be in limp mode ! Have the vehicle checked for DTC's - diagnostic trouble codes . Do diagnostic's , fix what the problem is , sensor , wiring , a control module , then the light will go out .

It will not go pass 30

check the fuel filter, if it plugs up this can cause no fuel flow to engine. Also check the air filter and the plugs, and wires, if not the filter. It can be most anything but hope this helps. or it may of went into limp mode, if so call or take it to a garage.

Mercedes benz vaneo is in limp mode. is it repearable and for how much?

Hi,

Limp mode is repairable and for not as much as you think. http://www.dieselturbocleaner.co.uk/ cures limp mode. You will need a reasonable level of competence to perform the treatment yourself (your local garage may do the treatment for you) but there are step by step instructions on the website and a support team to contact if you wish. Hope this helps

You may have to have your ******/computer ran for any codes to give you a better idea of why it is limp mode. There are many causes of limp mode. A sensor or solenoid or bad wire will send the computer into limp mode. The TPS and map sensor both can affect limp mode

Rpms wont go past 3000 and car wont go faster than 40 mph

I'm not sure about the system in your car, but this sounds like it may be stuck in "limp home" mode, where then engine detects a fault and limits the cars speed and rpms to protect the engine from any further damage. I suggest you check the throttle body and you can find instructions online that will tell you how to tell if it is in limp home mode, and possibly how to fix it yourself., Although if limp home mode did engage, there may be a more serious problem with the car, and i suggest you have a mechanic look at it.

1995 gmc yukon.third gear & od slips doesn't engage. check engine light came on, but i disconnected the batt. and that cleared the comp. i believe it is the sensors that tell the vortex engine and...

It sounds like your Yukon is running on the limp mode. On the limp mode, the truck will not go pass third gear. it could be as simple as tune up such as getting a miss fire will cause your Yukon to go in the limp mode.
Not sure if your Yukon is still running OBD1 system, that year was the change over year. Here is a link if it is a ODB1 system for you go retrieve the DTC codes. http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/ If your Yukon is on the OBD2 system, then your going to have to get it scanned. I believe Auto Zone can scan it for you free of charge.
Good luck and hope this helps you out, Oh and Auto Zone has the step by step instruction to the repairs need to be done to your Yukon.

Our truck won't go over 40 km per hour and only goes to 2000 rpms

Your truck is on a limp mode, there is a fault in your drive train that the ECM recognized and is doing it's job. Your going to have to get it scanned for a DTC code which will inform you why it's in the limp mode.
Most major parts store like Auto Zone or Parts Source will be more then happy to scan for free and help you understand why and what repairs needs to be done. If it's something you think you can do, they'll have the part or order it in and will have the step by step instructions to replace or replace the faulty part.
Good luck and hope this helps. I had a friend who had problem with his 2004 Siverado and the Dealer told him he needed a new fuel filter which was a part of the fule pump and 4 new injectors. Long story short dealer wanted $1500.00, I asked him to have it scanned at Auto Zone it was multiple misfire from injectors running lean.
We changed the spark plugs, wire set, ect. (tune up) and had the fuel injectors cleaned. Truck runs great and no codes, cost was under $200.00 for parts and having the injectors cleaned.
