Question about Cadillac Catera
Your A/C system may have a leak since work has been done on it, this is common since the system is always under pressure and more so when working. Once the system is low on R134A, the sytem will not aork to keep the A/C compressor from burning out due to the lack of R134A which is also a lubricant to the System. Your going to have to get the A/C system recharged after the leak has been addressed and stopped to keep the R134A from leaking out again which would cause your A/C system from working. If there is An Auto Zone around your area, you can buy a recharge kit for your car. Note that over charging is worst then under charged, an over charged system will cause the compressor to fail and will be costly. Here is a link on how to and Auto Zone sells this product and I am sure the staff at Auto Zone can help you with any questions you may have and do not buy any stop leak for your A/C system. The stop leak will only cause further problem, like plugging up the filter and making the valves stick. Good luck and hope this helps you cool down you car soon. http://www.id-usa.com/how_to_recharging.asp
