Need help with my 03 monrecarlo ss

Assuming the repair is good the problem could be the brain is waiting to have the memory of the fault cleared and maybe the default values restored.

I suggest you double-check the repair, the wiring and connection and then find a man with a suitable lap-top or diagnostic thingy to clear the fault, etc.

1999 dodge ram van speed sensor wiring diagram. I put a new sensor in and it still doesn't work is there a fuse or something else I'm missing

ive run into this a few times, its a bad cluster or if theres a speed sensor on the rear diff then replace that also and see if that works. i had a few of these with the same problem and replace speed sensor in the trany and still no speedo and then replaced the rear diff sensor for abs on the top of the rear diff and that solved the problem.

Have a 1996 camaro SS speed. i have replaced the rear end and filled it with mobil 1 rear end fluid with the limited slip additive and it whines at around 70 mph and also vibrates pretty bad.

There are bearings in the rear diff that make a "whining" noise it can be repaired by replacing the bearings. Here is how its done;

1. Jack up the rear end and support if correctly with jack stands.
2. remove the wheels and expose the axles
3. remove the differential cover and drain the differential
4. rotate the main gear inside and expose the take down bolt. (8mm)
5. remove the take down pin in the spline drive. 8mm nut
6. remove the axles and remove the main gear. then take out the bearings.
7. replace the bearings and reinstall the components in reverse order.
8. refill the differential.

Rear diff jolting and making a loud sound with alittle of grindin

What you were told is correct...the rear differential is going out; most definitely.

It is a safety hazard to continue driving the vehicle in that condition...could lock up while driving down the freeway - not a pretty site.

Used diff. anywhere from $400 to $600...invest in a Haynes/Chiltons manual and replace the unit yourself.

Rear diff whining noise

Give the old man a pat on the back! There is an oil plug on the rear differential. On a level surface, remove the plug; if oil starts to flow out, the fluid is full. If no oil flows, carefully put your finger in the hole and feel for the oil level. Your finger should go no lower than the first knuckle before you feel oil. If it goes further, you are low on oil and should either fill it up or better yet replace it. Rear axle oil doesn't get replaced nearly often enough in most vehicles and since your truck is 18 years old, would be a bad idea to have it changed. Best of luck.

Rear Axle Removal

if you are talking about the axle seals, 1.REMOVE THE WHEELS.2. REMOVE THE DIFF COVER(slowly)3.REMOVE THE BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY.4.REMOVE THE 8MM PIN IN THE DIFF CARRIER. 5.TURN CARRIER AND REMOVE THE LARGE PIN.6. FIRMLY HIT IN THE AXLE, A SMALL RETAINING C CLIP WILL FALL INTO THE DIFF HOUSING. DO THE SAME WITH THE OTHER SIDE. ( be careful if you have rear speed sensors remove it when you remove the brake calipers . you will break it when you are pushing in the axles.)7.pull axles and replace seals
