Question about 2004 Mini Cooper
I am working in a customer's 2003 Mini Cooper S (3-03 production). The power steering pump runs constantly, even with the key off (the cooling fan does not). I even unpluged the small plug with the 3 control wires and it was still on. The wiring diagrams I have are not that good but it seems to show a control transistor but does not show a set of contacts in the pump to power the motor. I am assuming there is a set of contacts or a power diode in there that have frozen shut. Is this a correct conclusion? Can the control section be replaced or does the pump assy need to be replaced as a unit?
