SOURCE: 2005 kia rio will not start with jumper cables

The clicking sound is either coming from the starter relay or the starter solenoid switch. If the starter makes no click then it has to come off and get new brusjhes put in it or have the solenoid replaced. You can check it by jumping the post with the battery cable fastened to it to the smaller post with the small wire on it either with a small screwdriver or a piece of wire.If it goes then, then you need the relay,if it does nothing then you need to fix the starter.

BATT fuse dead short in 1995 yukon

You don't need to replace the fuse box , an you don't have a dead short to ground ! The fuse would blow ! You have a parasitic drain on that fuse . You need to go to free wiring diagrams an power distribution diagrams , see what all other fuse's are feed from that an pull them out one at a time till the draw stops. There are some good videos on youtube showing how to do this ! How To Perform Parasitic Draw Test EricTheCarGuy You'll need a DVOM !

Parasitic drain 2005 avalanche

remove the positive cable from your battery then connect a test light in between the cable and the terminal of the battery. at this point it will be lit up. if you have an under hood light the bulb will need to be removed as well as the radio fuse and unplug any thing from the cigar lighter. remove the dome light fuse. if the test light is still lit up then you have a parasitic drain. the first thing i would do is remove the large red wire from the back of the alternator as a shorted field is the most common form of parasitic draw, if the test light is still on and are sure that everything is off and unplugged then start removing fuses one by one while checking if the test light is still on. once the test light goes off then you have found the circuit that is causing the draw. repair will depend on the circuit

My 2004 Kia Optima keeps killing batteries. I've put 2 new batteries in the last 6 months. I just put the new one in and it was dead after not driving it for 3 days. If I unhook the battery it is fine...

Sounds like a parasite. Shut off the car for about two hours, this will allow all of the computers to go to sleep. Connect an amp probe on the positive terminal of the battery, on most newer cars, 50 miliamps or less is all the current draw that the car should have. If it is more, remove one fuse at a time, checking the current draw. Lets have an example:
Current draw after two hours = 3 amps, so I remove the fuse for the cigarette lighter, when i check the amp probe, the reading is still 3 amps, this tells me, since i have removed power to this circuit, that it is not my parasite. So, moving on, I remove the fuse for my engine computer, I check the amp probe, the reading is still 3 amps, again, since I have removed the power source to this circuit, and the reading stays the same, it means that this is not the parasite in my electrical system. Moving on, I remove the fuse for my blower motor (the fan for your heater and ac) when i check the amp probe, the reading is 47 miliamps, since the reading is less than the previous reading, and i have removed power from the blower motor circuit, it means that the parasite is in the blower motor circuit. Hope this helps!!

Power drain when key is off

The first place to look when trying to find a parasitic draw is at anything aftermarket that has been added. So if you have wired anything into it, definitely start there. Otherwise you'll have to hook up an ammeter and start pulling fuses. When you pull a fuse and the draw drops dramatically that's the circuit you'll have to dig deeper into. Put the fuse back in and using a wiring diagram start disconnecting all the components in that circuit watching the ammeter making note of which one has the largest impact on the reading.
