Replace ignition switch

insert ignition key in switch turn half way, in the middle, now ither you remove plastic cover switch or find a hole that acces the switch release pin, with a sharp object try to inserted in the hole to push the pin inside the key barril at the same time pull the ignition key out try untill you get it out

I need to replace the ignition switch on a 1999 ford taurus without the key

very simple, insert key in the ignition. Then insert a small phillips head screw driver in the middle hole underneath the steering column.You should feel the screwdriver head hit a hole.Maintain pressure on the screwdriver. Turn the key to the on postion(without starting the vehicle).You should be able to pull the igntion switch out with the key.

How do I change the ignition switch in a 1995 F-350? The original key was lost.

*If* you had the key these are the steps: Insert the key and turn to the RUN position. There is a small hole in the steering column below the ignition switch. Insert a 1/8" drill bit (or something similar size) and push upward on the retaining pin in the hole. As you do this, pull out the cylinder lock. It should come right out. To reinstall, turn the new cylinder to the RUN position. Again depress the retaining pin and insert the switch into the steering column. Make sure the new switch is completely seated & aligned before you turn to the OFF position. This will let the retaining pin extend into the hole.

Because you do not have the key you will need to pick (or have the lock picked) before you can replace the lock cylinder.

Replacing the stereo, i do i remove the factory unit.

There is a "Ford radio tool" (about $7) that you insert in the four holes in the front of the head unit. Pushing outwards on them and pulling on them slides the radio out. They look like a small pair of horse shoes. It can also be done by inserting a #6 finish nail into each hole (four of them) pushing the right two to the right, and the left two to the left while pulling outwards.

2006 Grand Caravan: Can't get pcv valve from a 3.8 dodge grand caravan...

I just replaced mine and had the same problem. If you look at the new one, you should find a small hole at the base of the metal tube. Using a mirror, I located the same hole in the one in the valve cover and inserted a pointed awl into it and was able to pry it out. Do it slowly since you are prying against plastic. When inserting the new one, I found that it should not be inserted as far the original one was and has a gentle snap.

The ignition switch needs replacing it doesn't turn off everything and the truck can be cranked without the key.

I doubt you need a switch, most likely the LOCK CYLINDER is bad, Easy to replace, Turn the key on, now look under the cover of the column and there is a small hole, insert a small screwdriver into that hole and there is a small hole about 2 inches from where you put the key in, insert the screw driver into that hole and the lock should pull out. You may need to turn the key as you are pushing in the hole to depress the pin, you should feel it go in about 1/8".

can't remeber if i told u how, there is a small access hole under the lock tumbler in the column trim... with the key inserted in the on position. insert a small awl or perhaps a #1 philips screwdriver into the access hole, it will release the lock, just pull out the entire unit with key

Timing belt replacement

hi mate
if you look on the front of the engine under the starter there is a small hole, (you can use a 5mm allan key in this hole to lock the crank) place allan key in the hole and hold it against the fly wheel while you turn the engine over in a clockwise direction by hand when the pin drops in you need to check that the hole in the cam shaft lines up with the hole in the head (should be about 4 o clock on the pully) and the 2 holes on the injection pump pully line up with the holes in the injection pump. (if these dont line up you will need to remove the allan key and turn the engine clockwise 90 degrees)
once all the the holes are lined up and the allak key is inserted into the flywheel, insert 3 m8 (13mm headed) bolts in to the hole on the cam pully and the 2 on injection pully. with all thes done your engine will be timed up and wont slip when refitting new belt.
