Where mass air flow air sensor (toyota 2013 vego)

they use many engines in Toyota , up to 9, in some models.
so never work on any car , unless you know what engine you have.?

most cars 1988 to now had, MAF or a MAP
some newer cars have both, (it can switch on the fly depending or many factors)
why do you want to know,????? just curious. that is ok but
no engine NO JOY
must be a VIGO, and VEGO is spelled wrong?
the VIGO is
is this it
Data":
In August 2012, Toyota updated Toyota Hilux Vigo "Champ" in Thailand to 2013 model. This minor update upgraded emission standard to Euro-4, updated 4-speed automatic transmission to 5-speed transmission, upgraded performance of 3000 cc Vigo from 163HP to 171HP and upped torque from 343Nm to 360Nm; and Prerunner 4x2 was introduced in Auto. Other changes included more efficient fuel injection system and addition of center headrest on rear double cab seat. (end data)
a 3liter engine???????????
is it the KD engine:?? i sure dont know, im just reading the wiki.
they dont sell this car here. (usa)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_KD_engine#1KD-FTV

Is it a TURBO?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Toyota_1KD-FTV_Engine_01.JPG
Ive seen FAM sensors hidden in trottle bodies, the 2.0L DOHC engine is one example, so it can be very hard to find.
most cars the MAF is near the air cleaner, but not all cars.

today, there are 3 systems.
speed density EFI, MAP based
Air density EFI, MAF based (or old VAF "volumn')
and today (drum roll" BOTH.)
that is currect, if you want to learn more read this book
he covers this in spades.!@!!

read why they need both.

in a nut shell,
map works best at lower speeds and loads.
at high speed, the MAF wins, it measure true air mass. flow.
with a turbo even better, with a MAF for the same reason, and is oversized to do that.
folks that say the MAF restricts air flow are wrong, (sure with hacked cars) but does not, it will read accurate air flow, form off idle to any speed or load.
the MAP works best near idle.
one weakness with the MAP is it does not like changes to the engine.
anything that changes VE, (google it) will those hard set tables to be
wrong, not so with the MAF, it reads true air flow.
with 2 , you get better economy at all times, and more power under all condtions, even with custom exhaust system or cam changes. or
even CR, compression ratio.

i got his book on my nook for small $$
and jeff hartmans series. on same sub.
good luck to you.

How to change a timing belt toyota vigo engine d4d 2kd

There should be a mark on the cam gear(s) as well as the lower gear driven by the crank indicating TDC(top dead center), with transmission in neutral use a socket wrench with some leverage to turn the crankshaft pulley in the same direction it would turn while running. once the crank is at TDC the cam gears need to align to thier markings, likley at 12 o'clock position. if there is no marks on the bottom gear, unbent a wire coat hanger and remove the spark plug from #1 cylinder and loosly drop the hanger in, make sure nothing falls into the cylinder or any binding occurs in the cylinder. while rotating the crank you can see the wire go up and down as the piston moves, lift the wire a bit every so often to avoid it binding and be sure wire is straight and long enough to always stick up out of the cylinder enough to grab it. when its at its highest point of the compression stroke and just about to go down again, your at TDC and check the cam gear alignment. you should be able to tell the compression stoke from the exhast stroke because you must have it pretty close to start at all, if the cam gear alignment is off by half a rotation, then its the exaust stroke and keep turning. dual cams can be tricky since retentioning the belt will move at least one the gears you just aligned, but you can see how much they move and compensate so once the belt is tight everything is aligned.

Replaced head. Now can't get engine timed

i just rebuilt my 22r you have to make sure the chain is set on the timing gears properly also when you put the distributer in you have to find tdc on the #1 cylinder on the compression stroke. the piston travels and the valves open and close after the exhaust valve opens and closes the intake valve will open as the piston travels down when it closes the piston will travel back up compresing the fuel when the dot on the crank lines up with the mark on the timing cover that is tdc top dead center on the compresion stroke. once you have that yoo slide in th distributor so as the rotor points at the number one contact on the cap
