First make sure the battery is fully charged. Then check for clean battery post connections. Then check all the main fuses located in the plastic box under the hood close to the battery on top of the inner fender. You should have all dash lights if everything check out to this point and it should turn over with the key.

There is no fuse. Go to your local parts store and ask them to hook up their code analyzer which will tell you what is wrong. Then they can tell you how to fix the problem. Check engine is no joke and more than likely terminal if not attended to. Most parts stores offer this as a free service. Most vehicles have an access cable connection under the driver side dash board.

Sounds odd . One has nothing to do with the other . First off try checking battery connections . Make sure you have clean and tight connections and that nothing was left disconnected or lose . Next I would check all your fuses Under hood and under dash .

I have a 91 previa and the battery light came on

sounds like you poped the main fuse in the under hood fuse panel. before that the battery light on in a toyota pretty much points to an alternator problem.

I have a 2000 subaru legacy on which the battery was was connected wrong, something got fried i think, not sure what. I can't get the ignition light on.

Check the fuses, they're located under the hood and in most vehicles they are under the dash or in the glove box. and check the fuse able link the leads from the alternator to your ignition module. When the battery was hooked up wrong it fried some fuse or the fuse able link, or even the bulb for the ignition light located behind the dash board. you can email me at and I'll check my manuals.
