You don't need the part number as it depends on the maker of the starter motor.

How do i know if i need transmission oil for my pajero 2001

Probably more than you want to know, but here is the workshop manual on the transmission. I had a friend with a Pajero, and it had some kind of jangling bell if he went over 68 mph. Drove us mad going to the airport on a 325 mile trip.

How to replace fan belt on a Mitsubishi pajero

    Instructions
    1. 1 Open the bonnet of the Pajero, and turn the bolt on the centre of the tension pulley with a socket wrench two full rotations. The tension pulley is the pulley directly behind the fan in the upper portion of the front of the engine.
    2. 2 Loosen the adjuster bolt on the tension pulley bracket. This bolt is on the left-hand side, situated in a long horizontal groove.
    3. 3 Slip the fan belt off of the engine. Draw a diagram of the path of the fan belt if the factory printed sticker diagram is no longer in the front of your engine on your Pajero.
    4. 4 Insert the new fan belt, winding it through the various pulleys according to your diagram. Put it on the tensioner pulley last.
    5. 5 Place the tension belt tool on the tension pulley bolt and pull until the slack in the belt is gone. When there is no slack, keep the pressure on the pulley, and tighten the adjuster bolt with the wrench. Tighten the lock bolt on the pulley.

Pajeros have a air operated solenoid to disengage/engage the front hubs and centre diff lock. the solenoids themselves can stick if aged. to replace them is about $200 each (two or more of them). I found thata bit of WD40/ CRC soaking inside the airhoses and solenoides and enagge/disengage action of the hubs frees it up again. Do this while stationery in neutral and motor running. The solenoids are located inside the engine bay just behind the drivers side headlight. They will have some black rubber air tubes in/out of them. When you engage/disengage you should hear a little whirring and slight clunk and the hub locks/unlocks. If very aged, you may need to move the car forward/backward for the hub locking mechanisim to find its opening. Once disengaged, the orange light should go out. The aftermarket workshop manual by Max Ellery fully describes this process and is about $30 ON eBAY.

1993 nh pajero 3 LTR running on 5 CYL

    Hi Roy,
You say you have compression? is it well within the range of the other cylinders? if it is i.e. around 100 psi then possible bent or sticking valve? although you have a spark when plug earthed out of head is there possibly some foreign matter isolating the plug or is it the plug itself breaking/tracking down when in situe?
Failing all these, try a small amount of fuel direct into the cylinder to see if it fires briefly (Not too much just a couple of mls)
Maybe possible Head gasket failure? (I doubt it as all other cyls fine)
Can't think of anything else I would try,
    Hope this helps!
