The tach readout is controlled by software in the Instrument cluster (IC) based on the values sent from the VCM/PCM. The readout on your scanner should show the correct rpm values (120 to 240 is wrong). Therefore, if the engine is running normally, the computer is probably not sending the correct values to the IC, but the crank sensor is OK.

the engine want start there is no spark what is causing no spark? how do i check the injectors for a signal or do this vehicle have injectors?

Could be a lot of things. First thing is to check for error codes (DTC's) with a scanner.

    codes are P2101,P1516,P2119

All of these point to a problem with the Throttle Actuator Control Motor. However, the problem may also be back at your engine control module (ECM) since you are also getting faulty tach readings. In any case, diagnosis of the problem will probably have to be done at a GM dealer - I expect as a start either the motor or ECM will have to be replaced, and the throttle body internals cleaned.

if the ECM is bad would there be a code for it? the vehicle was running ok when drove to the store when turn the engine off and tried to start up again the engine would turn over but it wouldn't start i thought it needed a fuel pump so i replace the fuel pump and fuel filter and it still wouldn't start, after that i check for spark wasn't getting no spark at the coils. what all that can cause no spark other than the ECM?

There can be a DTC for a faulty ECM but not always, depending on the failure mode. The ECM controls spark timing through the spark control (ESC) module. The ESC may be faulty, but at this point the only practical way to find the problem will be to start by running a full diagnostic on the ECM. Troubleshooting by just replacing parts is not advised - see a dealer.

i replace a new crank sensor but the engine still want start there is no spark at the coils and spark plugs, will a igniton switch cause no spark?

As I said before, the crank sensor is probably not the problem. Given the DTCs you are seeing, the problem is probably with the ECM or ESC.

Buick Skylark 1997 i think the ignition control module is bad how do i really tell

Do you have a RPM gauge on the dash?If it reads something when cranking, then you should have a crank position signal to the ignition module. If there is no spark and the RPM gauge is showing cranking RPM,the ignition module may be bad.Try a used one before buying new.
If there is no RPM showing try a crank position sensor first.

There is no RPM singal when cranking why?

If your looking at the dash, Most gauges don't move till the engine is running. If your looking at a scanner and no RPM's. Most likely it is the crank sensor. Could be the wiring/plug. Worse case is the PCM died.

The engine will crank but will not start why?

Do you have any codes or an engine light on, in your dash board ? Have you checked for spark at your plugs ? There are many things that could cause a vehicle to not start. Bad camshaft/crankshaft sensors. Poor ground wiring. Defective spark plugs or wires/coils.

2004 envoy starts then shuts off and after that I turn the key and it will only crank not start

Could be bad electrical part that works for a bit while cold, but fails as it heats. Coil, ignition module, cam/crank sensor.

Rpm gauge not working

Could be a bad instrument cluster (bad stepper motor) or the vehicle speed sensor is bad. Does cruise control work, if it does then it is the cluster.

My 2004 gmc envoy starts but shut off after 1 or 2 seconds

Is there a Security light on the dash? Does it come on when the engine stops? If so, it could be having trouble reading the ignition key code. You would need to have that checked by a dealership.

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy SLT and the speeddometer stops working after a few miles. Sometimes it shows i'm going 120mph when i'm doing 35 etc. I'm thinking its the speed sensor, if so where is it...

The speed sensor is usually in the drivers side part of the tranny. It looks the same as a crank sensor. Check the connection also for bent male connectors.

Electrical Problem with speed gauge, RPM and dash board lignts.

That is a manufacturing defect associated with your instrument cluster. My local dealer replaced my entire instrument cluster for free (truck was out of warranty) when my speedometer showed 100 mph in a parking lot and my oil pressure gauge read 0.
