Hold the column switch see if they work while holding, if it works is your switch inside the steering column, is a common thing, , relay and fuses will be your next check and last your light bulb.

Assuming you Focus does not have DRL, setting the light switch to low beam energizes the low beam relay in the battery junction box, sending power through 10A FUSE 16 (L) and FUSE 17 (R) to the headlamp low beam elements

Low beams wont turn on brights will

check that you have power from the light switch to the relays to trigger the relay to turn the lights on. IT may be a faulty light switch--- fuse --light module control unit.

Low beams dont work 98 merc milan

This is not a fuse problem, the headlights are not fused, check the dimmer switch for power out to the head lights.

Low beams not working

The daytime running lights work off a separate module. You do need a new headlight dimmer switch located inside the car at the lower part of the steering column. It has a rod going into it with a few wires running to it. You will need to adjust it upon installing so mank the location of the old one with white tape or paint for an easier installation

How do you change headlight bulb

Open the hood
at the rear of the headlight, is a wire harness
pull it off the bulb base, by the connector
Two common bulb retainers, a lock ring, and wire clips
unscrew lock ring anound the bulb base/or/unclip wire retainer clips
withdraw the lock ring/or/swing aside retainer clips
withdraw bulb
replace bulb, ensure it is located in the notches in the mount,do not touch bulb glass with fingers, oil will crack the glass as soon as it heats up
reinstall lock ring/or/clip retainer clips
install connector
