Make sure that the new horn has the same wiring requirements as the old one
some horns use a return ground wire and others ground out through the horn body which means that the mount point has to be on metal of the car body and clean

04 Impala 3.8 horn blows low volume and sounds weird

sounds like the diaphragm in the horn is worn/dried out. check to see if you have battery voltage to the horn with either a test light or voltmeter and the horn has a good ground as if not then the horn won`t operate correctly. if these are good replace horn.

Horn stays on

Normally there is a horn relay, try replacing that. The contacts can weld together and keep the horn on. If you take the relay out and leave it out, you won't have a horn but at least it won't be blowing all the time.

Horn doesnt work. no notes from former mechanic. new relay

find the horn, usually beneath a head light assembly and in front of the radiator. remove the wiring connector and jump the battery right to the horn's electrical connectors. if the horn does not blow, go buy a cheap universal horn off the shelf at a parts store. if the horn blows then you need to replace the switch which is inside the cosmetic cover in the center of the steering wheel. this may be tricky, depending on the age of the car, and if it is old you just will not be able to locate the part.good luck

Horn will not blow replaced rely switch

then your problem is most likely a bad switch or horn. the horn is easy to test by disconnecting it and jumpering the battery to its terminals. an old extension cord makes a fine jumper for a few seconds. if it then does not blow, go buy a generic new horn at the parts store, if it does blow then your switch is most likely bad and you have to pull the steering wheel apart to fix that. depending on how old it is that might not be a good idea. horns are usually mounted close to the radiator, behind the grille and under a light.

possible horn itself is faulty and needs replacing. you will need to locate where the horn is and apply power to the horn from the battery. if the horn sounds then you know that it is a broken wire th=o the horn

Horn blows when it want to, makes a clicking noise i hear inside the car when i go to blow it but it wont blow and where is the horn located ,0n this 1994 buick centry and how can i fix it ,im 70 yrs old...

The problem is most likely not the horn, but the horn relay. Go to your nearest "Auto Zone" or O'Reilly's and they can not only sell you the new horn relay, but very probably show you where the old relay is located.

Horn wont work.i check the fuse in the door and

Maybe horn became unplugged. Put 12 v power to horn make sure horn works. Put test light on terminal on horn have someone press the horn button, if light comes on and horn does not blow you may need new horn. if light does not come on you may have bad contact at horn button, blown fuse, broken wire, bad horn relay or possibly just a bad ground.
