What would cause my 2006 monte carlo with a 3.9 liter engine and automatic trans to slip a little when I first take off.

Very common Transmission code - solution # 1 check to be sure Fluid is full . If not trans code sent plus will turn on check engine light or service engine soon . # 2 be sure condition of fluid is Good / Not worn out . Fluid must be Red / Reddish in color Cold and When hot- warm still have red / even lighter than when cold .# 3 if a higher than 50,000 mile car used in heavy rush hour traffic during hot weather then change fluid to give it fresh oil / Trans will fight heat better and save you a $$ 2000 repair bill . # 4 most important of all you can save a Trans by adding Lucas Trans treatment it is $ 20 some places but well worth $$ to extend life of vehicle if one in need of saving $$ .This can even be added to existing fluid if color is still reddish .

in t he steering column there is a machanel bar that slides up and down this works with the ignition key eather the key part is broken of the shaft that moves the lever to the trans is jamed or broken

Pink Black and white.black is power white is ground sometimes it has a green stripe and black is reference voltage.

Help my monte carlo 2004 transmission ust to slip ones a while but now it does it more often even thow i changed the trans oil twice pleas help!!!!!

once a trans starts to slip like this there is no bandaid fix, u need to either replace or overhaul the entire trans, the clutches inside the trans are worn out or you have a fluid pressure failure.

2006 monte carlo key stuck in ignition what to do?

You can try 3 things:

1. Make sure the vehicle is fully in PARK if an automatic, and in GEAR if a standard.

2. If key does not come out, wiggle the steering wheel back and forth as you try to remove the key. Making sure the key in completely in the OFF position.

3. Bring the vehicle to a dealership, they can fix the problem.

How do you replace the ignition coil on a 2006 Impala 3.9? This is not a 3.5. The 3.5 is different than the 3.9. You can access the 4 bolts on a 3.5 but, you can only access 3 bolts on the 3.9. Thanks for the help.

sometimes if the steering wheel is locked it won't come out of park try applying on the brakes and at the same time move the wheel back and forth and if this does not work and you have tilt it may be a problem in the steering column

There should be a decal on the bottom side of your hood, or somewhere in the engine compartment. If there isn't just put it on the crankshaft (bottom pulley) and go ribs to ribs, and flats to flats, and work your way around.
