How could you still drive normal in limp mode? If its in limp mode it would not drive normal because it would not go over 20-25 miles per hour! There are two things you need to look at first and that is...... is the issue coming from the transmission or the motor only then could one could one diag to suggest a fix for the issue.

Shift solenoids were stuck on. This could be caused by several issues. Speed sensor could be bad, throttle position sensor could be bad, etc. This is causing the car to go into "limp-in" mode. This causes the transmission to remain in 2nd gear to allow you to get to a repair shop. Have autozone clear the codes and see if it acts up again. Usually, limp-in mode can be stopped by stopping the car, turning it off, and re-starting it. Codes will remain stored in the computer until cleared by an automotive technician.

did you use the interface to cancel limp mode
you know its in limp mode

what was the printout of the diag

its aok to post i have a problem and this is the issues
but in limp mode you have no choice but too use software too fix the ecu etc to reset the mode fault etc

i think its the cold start system with air has an issue

if the glow plug light is flashing and the glow plugs are ok then its a sensor problem and a needed reset of the mcu to clear the error and retest...

from cold...!!

as have been given limited info re vehicle , it would be a safe option to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes then reconnect and see if that clears the issue, keep me posted if you wish

Sounds like "limp in mode" is activated. Could be a bad trans controller, or internal problem. What color is the fluid? If the trans is slipping, limp in mode will be activated and will not upshift past 2nd gear. If fluid is black, trans is fried

2009?? then its a dealer only job ,pressing button B whilst swinging from the aerial and pumping the brake pedal 5 times doesnt work on more modern cars ,they are designed to be turned on and off using encrypted software whilst connected to the mainframe computer in the factory ,for which you pay and if its not turned off after so long the vehicle will go into limp mode ---pay up ---or buy a classic 1950s vehicle

Did you clear the trouble codes with the scanner? OBDII trouble codes must be cleared with a scanning tool. If the codes are not cleared the computer could be in the"limp home mode". Once the codes are cleared, drive the car for at least one day. If there is no improvement, scan the engine again for codes.

If tranny fluid is clear and at normal level, then the issue is with the transmission - it is getting ready to go sayonara.

Better get that fix before you get stranded.
