Question about GMC Cars & Trucks
The 1996 GMC is running hot thermostat, the radiator it's holding. Could vacuum cause the problems? It has spider injectors I don't have experience with them. Thanks for your help. Brian Williamson

Check the oil filler cap for mayonaise. It may mean that your head gasket has gone, Go to a local garage and ask them to do a presure test on each cylinder to see if it fails on one. Have you checked the plugs for cleanness and oil contamination? that's where your problems sounds where it lies.

I had a 1987 oldmobile that had that problem. It turned out that the fan clutch thermostat had gone bad and would not engage when the engine heated up. The fan clutch was part of the fan. I replaced it and solved the problem.
