SOURCE: water/oil mixing in 22r engine

yes it can mix, also check the timing cover for rubs from the timing chain. this is the common problem with 22r. many mechanics will tell you its the block but they are just trying to make money.

What's your question?why does water and diesel mix

Well water and diesel don't actually mix they will always separate but if you have a problem with diesel getting into your water supply it is possibly head gasket gone or fine crack in the cylinder head or engine block. Normally you will notice your engine not running as well as it used to or starting may take longer. Before you go to the expense of major work there are products on the market that you can add the water and it circulates and may help seal up small cracks and blown head gasket, worth a try first. Water can also enter the engine via the air intake if you drive through deep water. This normally will result in the engine stopping instantly as the water will enter the bore and the piston is unable to compress water the way it compresses injected diesel.

97 ford 4.0 sohc runs rough has power changed plugs wires thinking maybe egr vavle

timing or bad fuel or head gasket will cause this .
take off radiator cap & run the motor if it blows out coolant when you pump the fuel pedal in the car its head gasket you may need two people if you don't have a rubber neck to look out the window if that's ok try the fuel water in fuel will do this to mix in some mentholated sprits (metho) to the fuel tank 1 litter to a full tank of fuel the metho will mix with the water and burn off when it enters the piston chamber ( try this in a glass of water 1st if your sceptical ) .
or use a fuel cleaner from your local auto shop
good luck

Milky white fluid on oil dip stick,, engine vibrates when idleing

Hi Joseph,

That white fluid is emulsified oil and water. Coolant is getting mixed with the oil and the engine whips it into a sort of milkshake.

The head gasket probably failed along on or more of the cylinders. This would explain both the oil/water and the rough running. Have you noticed a loss of power?

I'd run a compression test to confirm it. But it sounds like you need to replace the head gasket.

Sorry about the bad news,

Mike

99 suburban, water leaking into the oil. the dipstick is milky. i had a new water pump installed a few years ago. just put a new serp belt, tensioner and alternator in after the car died on my wife. ran...

Sounds like either a blown head gasket, a cracked head, or a cracked block. The solution would be to determine where the coolant is getting into the oil and address that problem.

White smoke coming out tailpipe

If your intake gaskets are leaking, when you dump soapy water on the gasket, it should bubble like crazy ( when it's running). If you can, run it with the rad cap off and watch for bubbles. If it keeps bubbling, you probably have a head gasket problem.

Water on top of the pistons...

So you took the heads off as well? If you took the heads off and let sit over night condensation built up on pistons just wipe clean and install head gaskets and tighten to specs with new bolts. But if you took heads off and antifreeze come pouring out you have a bad head gasket change both sides. The reason it has not leaked into the oil pan yet, cause it has not gotten bad enough to do so. Believe its a mess.
