No rear car stated, 2007+, (a stripped down compass the 1/2 Mitsubishi box)
so are you saying only the steering switches fail>?
or both that and the actual radio controls both fail.

first off you failed to scan the PCM,
that means YOU DO or They do. (you cant fix modern cars lacking this tool)
and it tells you if comms (communications) are failing from
steering brain to radio brain.. if yes, its not the switches.

scan it first. after checking fuses.
it can be a bad clock spring (that funky part on steering column)
or the switches if only the steering fails, and never radio. its self.
Ill not guess, and trick you in to buying parts not bad.
that be, MY BAD.
the path is this way,
wheel switches close. and pass through the clocks springs (my jeep as recall on them now)
and then goes to the steering brain
this brain then sends a message on the NETWORK
the radio sits on said nework and then does what it is told.

to diagnose thinks first lean how it works
the SM tells you this.
the factory service manual.
or at mitchells diy, login and read.?

I would say the switches are at fault here, they work by a resistance value that is sensed and the appropriate function activated.

The radio in my jeep patriot 2009 doesn't work with disc or fm, the am works. I can't set the clock or any other function. Help!!

as always with all electrical fails
check fuses first.
then check wiring to the objects failing
odd how AM works.
sounds to me that
the Disc transport is bad, the later the antenna fell off (broke)
and only AM works is because they are so strong in the city (are you) that AM works with a dead antenna, (common fact)
FM is very limited in range and must have an antenna

i bench test radio's. ask how. its super easy with test speaker and a 12vdc battery.
after above issues.

if the clock is dead or display, that is a blown fuse. (no photos posted???)
it get the clock going first. fuses....
most radios have 2 fuses.
or more.

1998 ford explorer radio does'nt work switch on sterrein wheel to fix it ?no power to the radio

You can't turn it on by the switch on the radio ? Nothing showing on the radio display ? If not check these fuses
Blown central junction box (CJB) Fuse 1 (7.5A), Fuse 20 (7.5A), Fuse 28 (7.5A), and Fuse 29 (25A) . The switch on the steering wheel should not stop the radio from being turned on at the radio !

How do I hook-up satellite radio

Although it's about $50, this is the best FM transmitter I've found so far. I use it primarily with my MP3Player, but the concept is the same for your satellite radio. It should have a 1/8" audio plug.
Simply plug this little adapter in your cigarette lighter, plug the 1/8" cable between your Satellite radio and the adapter, and tune your radio to the station on the adapter (you can choose another station if there is already something playing on its default station).
This works for me. I tried other brands and they all eaither had poor reception or died within a month or so. This one has been working for me for well over a year now GOgroove FlexSMART X2 Wireless In Car Bluetooth FM Transmitter with...

Have 99 grand cherokee & the horn isn't working & the airbag light is on what could be the problem?

The clock spring behind the sterring wheel is bad. This is the thing that allow all the electrical stuff in your sterring wheel to be able to work while you are turning the wheel. Sometimes this is recalled because of safety issues with the air bag. Check with local jeep dealer for recalls. 4 thumbs up is appreciated if this helps.

Replacing car stereo in a 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is pretty easy if you have a few tools and know how to use them.

1-You need to pry off the trim bezel. There are just snaps holding it on, but be careful you do not pull too hard or scratch it. Use a plastic stick or small srewdriver covered with tape.

2-There will be 4 bolts at each corner of the radio to remove.

3-Pull out the radio and and remove all the connectors and the AM/FM antenna plug.

4-Reconnect your new radio and repeat steps 2 and 1.

I did this same upgrade on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked without the need for a theft code.
