Get a workshop manual from auto parts shops, technical book shops or e-bay
as yadayada says it is the engine that you want so any toyota with that engine will give you the information you need

YouTube or a Toyota forum ..rifle through the shatty videos on YouTube find a good one that gives u the jist of it...go from there. And remember line up your timing marks properly and MARK them with a finer tip high Vis marker of some sort... and when you take to apart.....put it back together, the same way u took it apart.. it's fairly simple on that vehicle. It's just getting to it...

97 ford exporer timing issue

There are three engines used in a 97 model. The 4.0 single overhead cam V6 engine uses a timing chain in the front and in the rear, one for each cam. The left side is in the front and the right side is in the back. You would have to take the engine out to access the rear chain.
The 4.0 overhead valve engine and the V8 engine only have one chain in the front.

Timing chain broke, possible damage to heads

Has the timing chain or belt been replaced?? If not you can't check it unless you remove the head(s). If you did bend the valves it is doubtful the engine is destroyed other than needing new valves installed for the bent ones. So the cost would be about $800.00 more if a V6

1992 toyota 4runner timing chain replacement?

Best to go to an autoparts store and get a Chilton manual for your truck. It cost about $20.
It's the best bang for the buck when it comes to do-it-yourself research material.
It shows you step by step on how to do it. The book also has pictures, diagrams and drawing.
