If it was cold out and the speed you were driving may have been enough cooling for the radiator .

The radiator fan closest to my engine wont work in my 2003 kia rio, i have checked the relay and swapped the fuses over but no luck. What else could the problem be?

Hi Julie, the dual fan cooling system generally works with the larger fan being the radiator cooling fan and the smaller fan being the A/C cooling fan! If you start the vehicle and turn on the A/C and select the coldest setting within a few seconds both fans should start working!

Front cooling fan not coming on 2002 kia rio

The fan only comes on when needed, if one works they both likely do.

My 2004 kia rio its overheting just when i stop

Hi.

Check that the fan is starting and working OK. When you drive the air hitting the front of the radiator may compensate a malfunctioning fan. When you stop without the fan working the radiator gets hotter and your dash tells you that there is overheating.

If the fan is working replace the thermostat that may be starting the fan too late. Also check fan fuse and relay.

Do not drive the car in this conditions. Overheating can easily cause damage to the head gasket. An head gasket problem will require a more expensive repair.

Regards.

Auxiliary fan of my kia rio 2003 does not work. brought it in a shop and they took the fan and tested it it works. when i checked it it again the other day it stop working.what's wrong?

there are 2 fans. one in front and one behind radiator.the front one is for a/c equipped cars only and only runs when a/c or defroster is on. the engine cooling fan comes on only when temp reaches around 210 degrees faren.you didnt say anything about overheating so i assume you may not understand how they work

Engine Overheat

if the guage goes down when you drive then it is most likely the temp sensor that detects heat and kicks on the fan.
