Open Question

For Edge classic 600 2001, the hose of rad blow, the temp is overheat and the light is on all time even the trouble is repair, but i lost half of fire. Is it the light cut the fire?

To be honest, I don't have any experience with the 2.6, but from the sounds of it, you have coolant flow through the upper hose (which would explain why it's hot) and none through the lower hose (which is why it's cold). turn your heater on to max heat and high fan. then see if you can feel the hoses on the firewall for heat they should be hot. make sure that the fan unit on the radiatoris working if the upper radiator hose is hot the fans should be running if they are not that means that either the relay is bad the thermo sensor is bad or the fan unit is shot... please rate the solution..........thanks

you should have hot water on all rad. hoses when the motor is running at a norm. temp. the water is not going through the heater core like it should. you have cutoff valve bad low water are a stopped heater.try a hoter thermostat if none of the above are true.

I think you could be right about there being air trapped in the system.
Or the heater core(radiator) is plugged.
Either way you need a pressurized radiator coolant pump to put the coolant in without air being trapped.
Although,i have seen it done by jacking the vehicle up high enough that the radiator was now higher than the heater core level, and then the coolant was put in.
But this is dangerous to try.

I read that you have done a lot of repairs, but I am wondering if you are mechanically/automotively inclined if maybe doing a complete number on this might be the better way to go if it has not already been solved - How new is the thermostat? What about the PVC valve? What about the rad cap?Your rad hoses are changed and we'll say your rad is too, but it almost sounds like you are either pulling in air into your system and it gets air-locked - then you overheat a portion of the system even superheat it and then you have a catastrophe - It is time to have it power flushed and then pressure tested - I can't say, but it might not hurt if doing this yourself to some degree, that like a 2005 NIssan Altima, you park the car on as much of an incline as you can manage, and then run the car with the rad cap off to see if the car's coolant system will burb - the Altima's interior will freeze your tush in winter unless you burp the car. Why does heater blow cool air?


Old trick with any car ,firstly drain the antifreeze out then refit the bottom hose ,get a plastic bucket and add about a cupfull of caustic soda ,add hot water being usual carefull about this then when the caustic has disolved you add this to the radiator ,then providing the level is ok you refit the rad cap and run engine ,time ? depends say a half hour drive around town ,then let engine cool ,remove the bottom hose to drain being carefull as well whilst doing this .then remove the rad cap and flush it through
,then refit the bottom hose and remove a heater hose ,both it access allows then flush back through the heater hose ,both ways if you can both heater hoses off ,then refit one heater hose and let it back flush out through the rad cap then reverse this flow ,and if it all comes out nice and brown then clears you know your heater will work ,now drive car around with the water in for 5 mins then drain via bottom hose and then after fitting the bottom hose refill with antifreeze 50% min ,even in a frost free climate as the antifreeze is a anti corrosion agent as well .

I have a 2007 Buick 3.8 ltr engine and the heat is higher than ever in the interior. But the gage says cold the hoses are not that hot although the upper rad hose is a little warmer than the bottom hose


Check that you are getting fluid flowing through the system. Obviously make sure system is full. Check the return hose (from engine to radiator; usually the upper) is firm when hot and running and input hose (from radiator to engine; usually the lower) is firm and hot. If out from the radiator is but return to the radiator is not then you probably have a flow problem. Make sure your water pump is turning (and pumping) and check that your thermostat is not frozen closed. A frozen closed thermostat can stop fluid flow causing your engine to overheat and do serious damage while your temperature gauge reads low temp because there is no fluid getting to it to make it sense high temp. Frozen thermostats cause head gaskets to blow and engines to seize. When I replace mine I spend a few extra dollars and get the over temp protected thermostat because they lock open if the engine overheats rather than seizing and jamming closed. I'd rather change the thermostat than blow a motor or blow my radiator cans off. ;-) Good luck and I hope this helps you out.

2002 Jeep liberty overheating with a/c on then blows hot air


so the RAD is going to be good with leaks that it?
it has to hold pressure or it will get too hot,
14psi pressure,
I take my IR heat gun and check all rad tubes
top and bottom
and find, 3 are not 50 degree,drop end to end read same
those 3 are clogged, now you have 2 reasons to replace that bad rad.
something smokes, what?
it dont overheat parked, what is outdoor temp, 75f like here or 0F?
it must overheat idling, if it does moving.
how fan it not?
wont overheat A/C OFF you said.
so its marginal

ether rad tubes clogged
or fans dead,
one or both.

Overheating problem


i had something similar once, it ended up being the intake radiator hose, it has a metal coil inside, mine was broken and when you revved the motor it would **** the hose shut and overheat, but under 2000 rpm it was fine .

Overheat, i can smell coolant coming from the engine


NEED TO REPLACE HOSES AND THERMOSTAT. OVER HEAT CAN DAMAGE THE STAT, MAKE SURE THE FAN IS WORKING WHEN THE MOTOR GETS TO OPERATING TEMP. SQUEEZE THE TOP HOSE TO SEE HOW MUCH PRESSURE IS IN THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE RAD CAP .. CANT SQUEEZE IT ? DON'T REMOVE IT ! , PEPPER MAKES FOR A GOOD FIX ON THE ROAD RAD LEAKS

You most likely have a bad wheel speed sensor. if you have it scanned it should tell you which one it is, If that is the problem. you need to make sure that the scanner used Will read ABS codes

New thermostat,waterpump,coolant,block flushed rad flushed still overheats and coolant seems not to be circulating rad and bottom hose cold, top hoses extra hot


only the top hose gets hot m8 means the therm is opening up like its needs to do. i think your temp sensor/ sending unit is on the fritz

is the rad fan working??
