Biggest problem is finding the seal/gasket for the housing. I clean them and use silicone. Keep the seal in place.

It could be a simple replacement of the oil filter, remove the extra oil filter gasket left on when the filter was changed
excessive tightening of the filter
or replacement of the gasket for the housing mount
until you know exactly what is causing the leak , the cost cannot be calculated

Where the filter screws on. Look in the hole. It takes an allen wrench to get that part off to release the housing.

Oil pump?

Your filter is leaking, check it out.

Oil is dripping underneath the car not a lot and the person says its the oil sensor or switch is this serious

This needs to be repaired ASAP!! If your oil runs low while driving this will damage the entire engine. Also leaking oil is a fire hazard, car may catch fire if the oil gets to the exhaust area!!

My 2006 Town Car is leaking a small amount of oil. Garage has checked and replaced oil plug and tightened oil filter but I am still noticing small 1/2 dollar bill size leak on garage floor. Any ideas? Cost...

Check for stains in the valve cover gasket on the side of the oil filter, and in the engine block right above the filter. There is not much that can leak on that side, other than filter itself, and you already checked it. You HAVE to take the car to dealer for warranty inpection, and repair. The issue not only has to be covered by warranty, but by not doing so in time, it might void the warranty, for being careless about it.

How do I repair an oil leak from the oil filter for a 1992 Lincoln Town Car

Make sure the old filter gasket is not stuck on the filter housing. sometimes the old filter gasket comes off the old filter and when you put on the new one it will leak.

Oil Leak from Spindle

The stud that the oil filter screws onto holds the filter housing to the engine and there is an O ring between the housing and engine that leaks and is common on honda's. Removing the oil filter and then the stud will release the housing and can replace O ring which cost about six dollars at dealer.

My oil filter is leaking and it is tight

If anyone else has this problem, I'm betting its your oil filter adapter gasket. Of course check to see if the problem is just a bad oil filter seal but mine was not. The oil filter adapter is like 10 - $15 at Auto Zone or Napa. If you feel you can't do the job yourself then take it to the auto repair shop. It's only four bolts and change out the gasket but you must drain the coolant cause the water run through the same housing and it's kind of a pain to get to on the vehicle. Napa gasket p/n is 70801
