I have a kubota diesel 900 atv. no power to switch, horn, gages. Hook booster direct to the starter and it runs, but won't shut off unless hooked to booster direct to starter. What is my problem?

You have a short some where. with diesels it could wiring or a solenoid that could be stuck. I work on them when forced to. Cars and trucks. Everyone else gave up. with yours, i would be looking to fuel shut off. Diesels only run with 2 things after started. Air and fuel, no electrical needed. cut off the air or fuel, they die.

Try this.
Take a positive battery jumper cable and hook it directly to the big lug terminal on the starter solenoid that the cable hooks to from the battery.
Take the negative jumper cable and hook it to a good steel, iron, or aluminum ground connection right by the starter, on the motor.
Now try the key to start it.
If it still says nothing, I'm thinking you have some wire harnesses unhooked from the rollover.
Someone really good could take a little jumper wire and connect the tiny terminal on the starter solenoid (which goes to the key switch), to the positive battery cable, and that should make the starter work, hopefully.
If it cranks with this direct application of power to the starter, be sure and check the "ground straps" between the motor and the frame. I think there are about 3 or 4.
Some may have snapped.

new horn or relay gone most likely but make sure it is grounded good or wont work either hook battery booster cable from negative battery terminal to horn bracket if it works then clean mounting area under horn ground is bad

2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery up horn horn sounds and doesn't stop head lights stay on but nothing happens when the key is inthe ingition. No clicking or anything at all. alarm on...

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Your ignition switch is probably the culprit. You either have a broken or loose wire that causes the starter to engage. I assume your saying once it is started it runs OK and will shut off with the key? so there should be only the starter wire that is bad from the ignition.

I just bought a 1998 Saturn SL1. The only problem with it is the horn. It wont work I push the button and nothing happens, and the circut is'nt the problem. Can someone explain to me what i need to do, and...

see if you can find the horn itself (often behind the grill) and test it by applying 12v and ground directly to the two terminals (you can use jumper wires to the battery terminals or a portable jump starter). if it blows it rules out the horn. if it doesn't it is the switch, fuse/relay or wiring.

i have a fleet of fourtrax 300s and i have done that to one of them. it works but mine stay on when it is running b/c the switch dont work

first check the oil and see if it is full. the injectors are fired by oil pressure so check those things first.

as some systems need input from oil pressure gauge,mount a tee fitting in the original hole where the sending unit is. attach the original sender to one side of the tee , the new sender for your gauge (or line for mechanical gauge) to the other side of the tee. Make sure that the line or wire is away from anything hot, and be careful going through the firewall that you don't drill through anything you need (like the heater core) Use a rubber grommet in the firewall hole to make sure sheet metal does not cut through the wire or line where it passes through.

ignition relay probably stuck...could be an oddball short between ignition relay signal wire and another hot wire, but highly unlikely...replace relay
