Question about Infiniti G

1 Answer

A Nissan mechanic told me if a part, which may have faulty components, is placed on the front suspension, then there is a 350 kilometre running-in time before any movement and then the problem would be diagnosed. I am not sure of the standard of practice concerning some of these mechanics as the car is only as good as the mechanic or company (unless the car is beyond repair and I am sure that this would not be the case for most road users).

I do not know of any pat for front end that would need a run time, there is a possiblity that the rack and pinion would need to be tested after a short time to make sure it is not loose but I would like to know the name of the part that has to be ran 350 K's before it can be tested. As a mechanic it sounds fishy to me, but I would need to know the part he is talking about before I could tell you for sure.

What can be done was told ther is no adjustments in front end of my car for alignment

all cars has to be align at a long period of time if you getting quick tire wear, the mechanic told you a story, only reason a vechicle cant aligned if front end been or side vechicle been in a car wreck or if you have severe worn suspension components it would be hard to adjust the camber or caster wheel alignment.go to another garage that do front end alignment.

Very high fuel consumption on a nissan vannete cargo 1996 45 liters for 350 kilometres is it normal ?

For sure the fuel consumption if very high specially if you are a moderate driver and do not drive at very high RPM. Now the possible areas to check must be the fuel pump calibration and the timing. If this is out of order/settings then the fuel can be wasted without utilization which can result in high consumption.

Detection of faulty parts

Not really. You just have to use common sense. If the original part did not fix the problem, or the problem came back, it should of had a warranty on it. There is no such thing as a running in time on a suspension part. Maybe they aren't replacing the problem part, and you need something else?

Nissan Suspension noise

sounds to me like your front control arm bushings are broken. have your mechanic check the bushings in rear of the control arm. the ones that are right by the 3 bolts in the control arm in rear. those bushings brake and cause play in the whole assembly, causing a rattle. Its a black round bushing about 2 inches in diamater. its most likely all separated. common problem. Have him look at your stabilizer bar links also.
