Why can't I rotate wheel?


The new brake pads will be up tight against the rotor after you change them and hard to turn wheel by hand. Once you use the car that will loosen things up.

check that the wheel bearings have been properly adjusted and that the wheel nuts are tight. Check the front suspension for condition and tightness.

Disconnected battery and now won't start


Won't start as in no rotation of the starter motor and no clicking sound? Or starter turns slowly with the engine? Or the starter and engines turns normally but will not start? Or starter turns normally but engine will not turn?

Timing belt will not rotate no spark


The timing belt teeth are sheared off and you must replace it.

I want to change two belts (A/C and Alternator) on my 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5 car. What steps I am suppose to do.


First, feel the tightness of your belts. You will have to tighten the new belts to the proper tightness. If they are too tight, they will wear the bearings prematurely. If they are too loose, they will slip.

Alternator Belt Removal

  1. Loosen the alternator lock nut.
  2. Loosen the adjuster bolt.
  3. Rotate the adjuster bolt counter clockwise to release the tension on the belt.
  4. Remove the belt.
Similarly for the compressor belt

  3. Rotate the adjuster bolt counter clockwise to release the tension on the belt.
  4. Remove the belt.
5. Install the new compressor belt

6. Rotate the adjuster bolt clockwise until the belt is tight like it was before you removed it.

7. Tighten the lock bolt.

8. Install the new alternator belt

9. Rotate the adjuster bolt clockwise until the belt is tight like it was before you removed it.

10. Tighten the lock bolt.

11. enjoy life

2003 Envoy SLT V8--How can I adjust the parking brake? recently replaced per dealer cable and was very tight, then back at dealer for rotors ,E-brake then very loose. Back to dealer for adjustment=a little...


The parking brake on your envoy is like a small set of drum brakes mounted inside the "hat" of your rear rotors. To adjust it, remove the rear wheels and remove the rubber cap on the rotor. If you don't have a rubber cap look at the brake backing plate and look for an access plug. Rotate the rotor and look inside towards the top or bottom for a star wheel. Rotate the star wheel like you would if you were adjusting drum brakes. You want a very small amount of drag on the rotor while rotating it. If you get too much drag, rotate the star wheel the opposite direction.

I'm not sure how to get the timing belt sprockets aligned on their indexes, and at the same time be TDC on the first firing piston. Please help korby


FIRST GET NO. ONE PISTON AT TOP DEAD CENTER USING THE CRANKSHAFT. THEN TRY TO LINE UP CAM AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE AND WHEN SETTING THE TENSIONER PULLEY TAKE NOTE OF HOW MANY TEETH THE CAM IS OFF WHEN THE TENSIONER IS TIGHT. THEN TAKE TENSION OFF THE TIMING BELT AND ROLL THE CAM BACK AS MANY TEETH AS IT WAS OFF WHEN IT WAS TIGHT. THEN RESET TENSIONER AND ROTATE ENGINE WITH CRANKSHAFT AND CHECK MARKS AFTER ONE ROTATION. Pulleys and driveBelt move freely when engine off, but they dont


sounds to me like the belt is just sliding on the crank pulley. Could be a separated harmonic balancer. Check the big pulley on the bottom.
