Why does my 2005 Uplander all of a sudden have only 2nd and reverse gears?

Do you have any lights lit on the dash ? check engine , a yellow wrench, service vehicle soon etc.. These transmissions are electronically controlled ,electric solenoids inside controlled by the powertrain control module ! There is nothing you can do if you don't now about these things , take it to a shop who does ! ASE certified preferable !

Where is the transmission control module located on a 2007 chevy uplander located

It is in with the Engine control module. They are one in the same. Probably not the problem. When TCM's go out, they usually have no gear/movement, really hard shifts, or won't go to a higher gear. Check the fluid and or add a transmission additive. Additives work for a while.

My 2005 Chevy Uplander will only drive I reverse smoothly. It doesn't respond in drive or third gears. It revs but doesn't catch.

Some Chevrolet Uplanders have been failing prematurely. This premature transmission failure has been attributed to the control module, which fails, causing the transmission to overheat. The transmission fluid is running overheated if it gives off a burning smell, and if the fluid is extremely dark in color. This symptom is a sign that the transmission is beginning to fail. If the control module is the cause of this transmission failure and the transmission fluid is overheated, the control module needs to be replaced or reprogrammed. The dealership can make this repair.

Fuel filter for the chevy uplander

The fuel filter on this vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is an integral part of the fuel pump module assembly. As such, it's not replaceable by itself and can only be serviced by replacing the entire pump module. It's a "lifetime" filter, in theory anyway, but it can plug up if there has been a large amount of crud that has gotten into the tank somehow. The best way to determine if the filter is restricted is to have the fuel pressure tested as part of a road test drive to see if the pressure remains steady [indicating a good pump and ok filter] or drops off [indicating a restricted filter or weak pump] Hope this helps!
