Trailer Lights, I have a polarity problem. The LED tail lights on my trailer only work if I reverse the plug-in, any idea on how to fix this polarity problem.

Possibly the person that borrowed your trailer changed some of the wires. Old-type bulbs don't care about polarity, but LEDs do.

1990 ford econoline Van e250 my van has been dying after running it for awhile once I shut it down and try starting again it won't turn over ! But if I can comeback after awhile and try starting it and...

If the headlights are dim when the engine stops, the alternator is not charging the battery.

A lead-acid battery will "recover" slightly when the engine is turned off. The recovery may be enough to allow the engine to be started again but if the battery is not being charged adeqautekly, the engne wills top running when the battery voltage falls too much. It won't last long, though. The battery terminal voltage should be around 14.5 Volts with the engine running. If it is 12V or less then the alternator is defective.

There are diodes in alternators to convert AC into DC for the battery. If you "jump start" cars with yours, its alternator diodes or the alternator's internal regulator circuit can be damaged due to excessive loads and/or what is called "inductive kickback" from the other car's starter.

Hope this helps!

Battery charged wrong with neg on pos and pos on neg due to walmart putting red cover on neg side of battery. battery changed polarity... so when putting on cables must have damaged car. starter cranked...

Once a battery flips polarity, it's done. You need a new battery.

It's also likely that the starter was running backwards, which probably didn't cause any mechanical damage, but when you try to start it again, pay attention to any weird noises.

Hope that helps.

Change battery

I just finished changing the battery myself on my own 2006 CLK500, so its clear in my mind. The battery is located under the hood (near the firewall) on the passengers side, just under the black plastic air cleaner housing, that is held in place by 3 metal clips. You need to unclip 3 clips, lift the air cleaner housing up and out to expose the 12V battery. You need a 10mm hex driver to remove the post clamps and a 13mm socket on the end of a 16 inch extension with ratchet to remove the 2 battery hold-down bolts, that are a bit hard to see without a flashlight (from the top, looking down). Remove the 13mm nuts and the bracket that holds the base of the battery in place and remove the battery. Installation is the reverse. Don't forget to install the battery acid drain hose and elbow, by removing it from the old battery. (It doesn't come with the new battery ($224.00 retail for new 12V battery). Also $35 core charge from Mercedes. That's it. And you'll have to reset your clock.

I wired up the 12v connection to the wrong polarity. is the unit now useless or can I repair it/replace the circuit board

Some time circuit boards will fool you. maybe if you look for a fuse on the board replace it and re try connecting it if it is fried it is a cheap way to see if its not. today's fuses are pretty good at preventing damage in most cases.

Golf battery polarity

reversed polarity, check fuses. check the system for burnt wires also !
Always hook up your battery terminals correctly, as the alternator may be damaged if the battery is hooked up backward. jump start car, if it will. there should be at least 13.7 to 14.2 volts at battery posts while its running. if alternator is ok.

Honda code P0A7F

I have a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid and have had hell with it. I have also learnt much about it too.

One thing bad about the HCH2, is that the 12V battery controls the electronics, and the Hybrid battery charges the 12V battery. However the 12V battery is not charged all the time, and cannot be charged when the IMA is usually being used, and in different scenarios. (Buy a Electronic volt meter which plugs into the 12V adapter $14 Walmart))

It is possible that the 12V battery is being drained while driving and caused a voltage drop which can cause your problem. In your case, I would change the 12V battery anyway as they do not last long on Hybrids. (You may have to get Honda to trip the IMA warning lights.) In my case, changing the 12v battery helped the hybrid battery as it was the electronics reporting the charge level wrong.

Depending where you live, you will have a minimum 80,000 mile warranty on the hybrid battery.

My 600amp jump pack needle hasn't been charged in a while

Have a look at one like yours in store & see what specs are on plug in to charge. It will say Output voltage ..., then how many amps, or milli-amps, for example: ( output voltage 13.5 VDC @ 800ma.) Now find a charger/adapter, with same specs, and plug. Perhaps one your using is very minimal output, or lower voltage. Be sure polarity symbol is same on both too.
