SOURCE: glow plugs

change the auto relay box or do a colin ----run a wire direct through an old fashioned push in type switch ,cheaper in the long run and it always works

SOURCE: LIGHT ON DASH FOR GLOW PLUG NO LONGER COMING ON

this sounds like the glow plug relay is u/s or stuck, locate the relay in your fues box and give it a tap or remove it and replace it, it might have just come loose, if this does not work it will need replacing...hope that helps

SOURCE: glow plug light goes out

thats how it should work...the glow plugs on those engines dont really help cold starts they are fitted to clean up the emmisons from cold starts as it stops the tree huggers from complaining to much.....

Had 04 transit connect for 6 weeks. always started fine till week ago when turned cold. glow plug light only shows for about 1 second, replaced glow plugs but still the same. can only start every morning...

Sounds like the timer is bad. Since you have power when warm, the power relay must be giving the timer juice. The way it is suppose to work is you wait until the glow plug light goes out and then try to start. In cold weather it should take longer for the glow plug light to go out.

Isuzu trooper hard to start

  • Even though the glow plug goes out it does not mean the all the glow plugs are working,
  • Remove glow plugs.
  • With a set of jump leads connected to a battery connect the earth lead to the body of the glow plug and touch the top of the glow plug where the wire is connected with the pos lead the top of the glow plug should heat up and turn red.
  • Only replace the ones that do not heat up.
  • Hope that helps.

Wont start in morning

Hi if the car is a diesel engine then you need to repalce the glow plugs these are used to heat up the diesel for starting the car from cold once the car has been run or if the temp is not to cold then the glow plugs dont need to all work and it will then start.

The problem points to the glow plugs if the car starts ok when it is up to temperature if when the car is upto running temperature and then still has trouble starting then the problem will be with the diesel pump itself. If its the pump and not the glow plugs then this could be an expensive repair.
If its the glow plugs then these can be brought relatively cheap and are not to much trouble to replace if you have done this type of repair yourself.

Let me know if your car is petrol or if you need further assistnace then i will assist you further ok
