It could be a list of problems that cause your situation. This is a partial list:

  1. NO GAS
  2. PLUGGED FUEL FILTER
  3. NO SPARK
  4. BAD DISTRIBUTOR ROTOR
  5. BAD FUEL PUMP
  6. BAD FUEL PUMP RELAY
  7. BLOWN IGNITION FUSE.
There are only three things an engine retires to run:
  1. FUEL
  2. AIR
  3. SPARK
It won't run with any one of these missing.

The transmission filter is inside the transmission. You have to drain out the oil and remove the transmission pan and gasket. The filter is made of metal guaze and is screwed/bolted to the underneath of the valve body.

SOURCE: how change fuel filter for hyundai tucson 2008;

The filter is not serviceable. There is no filter, per se, it's a screen sock at the bottom of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank - no replacement required in its lifetime.... unless contamination occurred, then you'd want to replace the entire assembly/pump, not just the screen sock.

SOURCE: HOW TO CHANGE FUEL FILTER ON 2008 HYUNDAI TUCSON

instructions

Things You'll Need:
Fuel-line disconnect tool
Rag
New gasket
New fuel pump
Flat head screwdriver
Ratchet and socket
The assistance of a friend (only when you are ready to remove the back seat)
Rubber hose plugs
Two adjustable wrenches
1

Locate the fuse panel under the hood of your vehicle, then open it and remove the fuel pump fuse with your hands.
2

Start your car and allow the fuel system to depressurize by allowing the car to idle until the engine dies.
3

Reinstall the fuse, then disconnect the battery with a ratchet and socket. Drain the gas from the gas tank with a siphoning kit.
4

Remove the back seat by unbolting the base with a ratchet and socket and lifting the seat out with your hands. The bolts are located on either side of the seat near the base. You will also need the assistance of another person to lift the seat out safely.
5

Remove the wiring harness by gently pulling it from the connector, and detach the rubber grommet with a flat head screwdriver. Unbolt the fuel tank cover with a ratchet and socket, remove it with your hands, pull the wires through the grommet, detach the fuel line hoses with a fuel-line disconnect tool, and lift the hoses out. Cap the hoses with rubber hose plugs.
6

Reach directly into the gas tank, then remove the fuel filter using two adjustable wrenches, placing one on either side of the fuel filter. You will recognize the fuel filter by its filtering paper cartridges.
7

Install the new filter, then follow the previous steps in reverse to complete the installation. Refill your gas take when finished

The poor performance of the car makes these faults to come up and undermine the working of the engine. A full check up on the fuel and firing will confirm the fault on the car engine.

please check these tips:

http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5843031-tips_check_car_not_start

To check the performance of the car you can start by checking from the fuel tank. Check if the fuel contains impurities and specially water. If so this can come up with the pumping when the tank gets empty and produce misfiring, splutter and jerks. So a check on the fuel filter will confirm this as it will be seen, if so remove and clean tank and change the filter. We then come to the fuel pump/carburetor as the fuel mixing and pressure is determined in this section. You need to have the pump calibrated if the pressure at the injector is low.

Then we must check with the electrics. The spark intensity is most important .Remove all plugs to check gap and condition of plugs. The black plug indication will confirm that the performance is bad whereas a fully fired plug without deposits must be the ideal view. Check the HT coil and the HT wires, if the intensity is bad this must be swapped and checked to confirm. DO NOT CHANGE any part without a confirmation by trying with a replacement from another vehicle or friend. Finally the LT trigger to the coils must be checked be it from the platinum points or an electronic ignition unit. The voltage of the trigger must be high to give the best HT output.

Now use a strobe to check the Timing on the engine. Adjust if needed to see the TOP DEAD CENTER-TDC- mark. If there is valve noise make sure that the tappets are set properly so that the valves seat firmly for the best compression. Also check compression of engine if there is imbalance on the engine or reduced power.

I want to buy a 2008 Hyundai Tucson wheel (rim) for use as a spare. Where can I get one from?

If you're looking for a spare, try checking a junk yard/wreck yard (cheapest bet),depending on where you live, check the local auto listings (In my area we have the Smart Shopper where people list various things, spare tires included) otherwise if you want to buy new contact your local Hyundai dealership.
