Tilt lever on steering column is not staying in place, so the steering wheel slowly move up to block my view. I know its a simple fix, but I need some kind of direction on how to remove it probably

I don' t think so.
Not a simple fix.
The tilt lever is down underneath the horn button, which is part of the air bag system which is on top of the steering wheel, which is on top of the tilt lever.
All this is a big job to deal with.
If this were my car, I think I would figure out a way to lock that lever into the locked position.
That would likely take some creativity.
Do you know someone creative?
Fixing it will likely require removing the steering wheel.
God bless your efforts.

Tilt wheel stuck I the up postion,How do you fix it

This happens with my ram. The tilt wheel locking pin is stuck. When this happens to me i have to wiggle my steering wheel up and down and pull on the tilt release lever at the same time until the locking pin slides out of it's locked position. I have found that if i do not lock the wheel in the max up or max down position i do not have this problem.

How do i adjust the tilt steering

There should be a small lever, usually on the left of the steering column, under the steering wheel. If you pull or lift on the lever, it allows the steering wheel to be tilted up or down. When you release the lever or push it down, it will lock the steering wheel at that height.
Cheers.

I need to replace the two top bearings on my 1982 Chevy Silverado K10, Tilt wheel steering column. How do I take it apart?

It is doable if you have the right pullers.
Take off the steering wheel (special puller)
Remove steering lock plate lock ring and plate(special puller)
Remove ignition key and tumbler
Remove T/S switch you should be able to get to top brng
Disengage tilt wheel spring
Take apart dimmer switch assy ( remember how it goes)
Remove 4 bolts connecting collar to steering shaft
Rotate collar upward to remove from shaft
With collar off, you can get to the lower brng.

Steering wheel moves up and down

You must take the steering wheel apart and tighten the bolts that hold the tilt joint together, a 4 hour job.

1987cadallic deville steeringwheel

Hi,

Usually, vehicles with tilt adjust steering, have a small lever just under the steering wheel column. Pulling this lever out, unlocks the wheel. Pushing lever back in, locks the wheel.

Have a look for a lever of this type and once you find it, have your Dad hold the steering wheel at his preferred position, then push the locking lever back up, to lock the wheel in place.

Let me know if you resolve this.....

Cheers,

Tilt steering wheel won't tilt. What's wrong?

your steering wheel adjuster is blocked or stuck up thats why it doesnt freely move to the max. take off cover/ check condition and or lubricate it.
