How is the nuetral safety switch on a Hyundia Santa fe 06? I believe if I'm facing the car its accessible on the left side. I removed the skid plate but can't locate it.

First we need to make sure that its the neutral safety switch how did you come about that conclusion? Try this next time it will not start shift the gear into neutral and try to start it again if it starts every time you shift to neutral I would say yes start with your neutral safety switch. Your neutral safety switch is incorporated with your transmission range sensor located on the transmission follow the transmission linkage to the transmission there you should find the neutral safety switch usually black in color made of plastic with a wire harness connected to it you could get someone to shift it for you while you look to make sure you are looking at the right part.

Neutral safety switch location

If you have a 5-speed manual transmission, you're probably looking for the clutch safety switch, which is located on the clutch pedal under the dash near the firewall, rather than the neutral safety switch, which is on the left side of automatic transmissions. Out of curiosity, why do you believe that it needs to be serviced?

Neutral safety switch

If the Stratus is a manual transmission, you're looking for the clutch safety switch located on the clutch pedal near the firewall; if it's an automatic transmission, the neutral safety switch is located on the transmission...probably an oblong, 3-wire connector.

Neutral safety switch location

Normally on your transmission. You will see one or two thick wire cable looking things that connect to a black thing on the top of the transmission (sometimes it's on the side). that black box looking thing is the neutral safety switch.

Where is the neutral safety switch located on the transmission?

Neutral safety switch is located in a cluster where the shifter mounts to the transmission, it is a very sensitive little ******, if it is not right, it won't start. You have to loosen the outside ring thing and give it a very slight twist, to get it to the neutral position, if it was taken off or whacked, or whatever. Hope this helps.

Firebird Won't start

Very possible its the neutral safety switch. Try putting the car in neutral and turning the key. If it starts then I'd investigate the linkage and/or neutral safety switch. Best of luck.

Where is the neutral safety switch location/located

On top of the transmission, right under the shift linkage. Look down under the brake master cylinder.
