The first thing to do is make sure the engine is in a good state of tune, plugs were replaced at recommended milage by the owners manual. You should also check for vacuum leaks at the intake manifold.

check your #4 injector it is most likely plugged with rust ( very common problem on these engines ) Klay

make sure the firing order is correctly. going clockwise on the cap it should go 1-6-5-4-3-2 and the cylinders are numbered as follows: passenger side from front to back is 1-3-5 and driver side front to back is 2-4-6

2003 dakota pops back through carb/throttle body (misfires). Code reader gives a P2135 code. What do you think is the problem? Seem to happen after a drive and then sits a while. After it get up to...


P2135 is a throttle position code. If it is popping through the intake that is an indication that it is lean ( not enough fuel) I would risk the cost of a Throttle position sensor and replace it.

Replace the ignition wires and spark plugs first then if this doesn't solve the problem there may be a ignition module malfunction or a mechanical issue which will require a compression test and mechanical evaluation.
