Scraping noise catalytic converter

No, my guess is your experiencing a little rust on brake rotors, or something similar. What happens when you do it with slight pressure on brakes, does noise change? Does it matter which way you turn? Doesn't happen at other speeds?

My 2001 taurus will either not start or it will start and then it will shake and turn off, unless i keep pressing the gas. I got the sparkplugs changed because the diagnostice said it was the plugs. What...

check the plug wires, then the rotor and cap for burn marks or bad spots , thin cracks in the cap cause the voltage to arc inside the cap resulting in misfires to wrong cylinders. also check the contact points inside the cap for carbon build up on them,, you can scrape it off with a small knife blade,, use a mild sandpaper for the end of the rotor that sends the power to those contacts. if this doesn't correct the problem, check the coil

How do I replace the wiper blades on my 2006 buick rendezvous? the driver's side blade was knocked loose and came unhooked when I was scraping ice off my windshield earlier today. How do I put the blade...

look on the other wiper blade on the opposite side
and notice how it fits. Maybe even try to take it off. this should teach you how to put it on, it should slip into the u grove and clip.

When driving, especially when turning, my equinox maske a loud "scraping" noise much like that of the starter trying to engage. When starting the car, the same "scraping" noise is noticable. Any clues??

You may have a wheel bearing going out. There a gravel shield that sits real close to the brake rotors. If the bearing get excess play in it will allow the spindle to tilt and the rotor will rub on the gravel shield. Look for fine metal shavings by each wheel. Another possibility is you, or someone driving your vehicle, hit something on the road and bent one of the gravel shields so now it rubs on the rotor. But, being it gets worse when turning I'm betting on wheel bearing. If you see metal by one of the wheels, jack that wheel off the ground and see if you have noticable shake in the wheel, top to bottom.

Scraping hissing noise coming from front right tire. this is after new cv joints installed. what is the problem?

check to see if your splash guard was not put on correctly, or your shield on the back of the rotor might have been bent during the install. That can just be bent back. When your checking this check both side with the wheel turned all the way left, then all the way right and then straight forward. Remember check both side even if you dont think its coming from that side.

Horrible scraping/scratching noise coming from wheel

Hello, this would be an easy thing to diagnose. All you need to do is jack up the front of the car, so that you can turn the wheel and listen to it while you wiggle and turn it manually. You're also checking for any wobble and wear in the front end parts at the same time. Next, remove the wheel and inspect the rotor for any scratching to the shiny surface, which could determine where the problem is. If no problem there, rotate rotor and listen for the scratching sound and you will see where its coming from by looking at the brake pads which are visible when the wheel is off.

OCCASIONAL Metallic scraping noise - New ceramic brake pads.

You could be right with the wheel bearings. But first take the wheel off and check that nothing is scraping the rotor. Look all the way around the rotor. A suggestion will be that the brake pads have worn enough that the brake pad wear indicator is starting to scrape. Pry them back a little.
