Blower motor resistor

Posted on Dec 27, 2016

Testimonial: "Awesome , thank you , any idea where that is located on this model Is it up under the dashboard ?"

  • Nicola Conroy Dec 29, 2016

Think it sits right next to the firewall a little to the left (drivers side) of the blower motor.

Heater/defrost/ac does not blow in my 2006 tacoma. worked this morning, parked at work, came out half hour later and would not work.

what has most likely happened is that a fuse has blown that is in your blower fan circuit. Check your owners manual, and see if there is a fuse to that system, if there is, check and see if it is blown. If it isn't, then the problem could either be your blower fan itself, or your blower motor resistor. Generally, when the blower fan goes bad, no speeds of the fan work. When the Blower motor resistor goes bad, usually only 1 speed of the fan works. Try the first suggestion i gave, and it everything checks out in the fuse box, then try all of your fan speeds. If one works, you need a blower motor resistor, if none work, then it is most likely your fan. Let me know how it goes and i'll do my best to assist you further. good luck.

Heater fan only works on High for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. On my son Dodge I just needed to replace a resister, is that what is needed here also?

That resistor usually doesn't go as quickly in just five years, although, it is possible. I would salso have the blower switch and wiring to it checked. Thanks, Dana

Where is the fuse or relay transmission shift lever lock of the 2006 Tacoma

If your transmission lever will not come out of Park, you have a blown Brake fuse, or a bad brake switch above the brake pedal.. The fuse is in the interior fuse box, under the dash, driver side.

We hope that this helps you out.

Air blower will only work on the high side. All

I believe there are TWO fuses for the blower. One for lower speeds and one for high speed only. Check your owners manual for the location of BOTH of these fuses. Check and replace if blown. Does anything else not work (i.e. interior lights, cigarette lighter...?) they could be on the same circuit.

2006 tacoma airconditioning problem

Replace the fan motor resistor, which is located in the blower housing, (under the dash, under the glove box) to the driver side of the fan motor. Held on by 2 screws. Common problem. I change a lot of them.
