86 Chevy pick up c-10 with a 350 turbo transmission shifts only once and won't shift in to higher gear. Tried manually shifting and does the same only shift once

Sounds like the clutches for the direct drive drum are shot. Either have it rebuilt or replaced, but make sure whomever installs it knows how to set up the detent cable or it will burn itself up again within a few miles.

We installed a new motor in a 2009 Silverado 3500. Truck is showing codes when running and not shifting from 1st to 2 gear. How do you clear those codes.

If the transmission in your truck is a 700 r4 The kickdown cable is actually a vacuum cable and if not properly adjusted the vehicle will not shift

How to hook up a kick down cable on a turbo 350 with a 5.7 350chevy properly

The turbo 350 ,,,,uses vacuum and a cable,,,to kick down,,, just run a vac line from intake to the regulator on back of the trans,,,pull the cable out as far as it will go,, hold your throddle wide open,,, will get you close,,, you may have to make a bracket to the kickdown in the proper place,,,

Trying to find the proper torque specifications for a 350 turbo transmission valve please.

My book says,
"Tighten the valve body bolts, spacer support bolts and detent spring bolt to 12 ft-lbs, working from the center out and tightening the detent spring last."

What transmission come out in a 1983 chevy silverado

It should be the 700 r4 transmission with the 350 block,
unless someone changed it out, it could be a turbo 350, if the truck is a 3/4 ton.
if you have 3 gears and over drive it is a 700 r4
only 3 gears turbo 350

I have a turbo 350 that was rebuilt with shift kit it was running good now it is holding 1st gear too long. Is there a adjustment for this.

Yes,where the detent cable hooks up to the throttle,,push in the d shaped button, and move throttle all the way full throttle and release the throttle, this will set the shift cable .If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

I have a 92 chevy k/2500 4x4 350 eng.w/tbi and the transmission is a turbo 400.i have no passing gear.what can i do to get kickdown.also i get 2 stories on what tranny came in the truck orig.i have a 4 pin...

there should be a kick down cable coming from the tranny to the tbi, this is probale out of adjustment, or the tranny is having issues, this can be fixed by losing the cable. now take the throttle and open it wide open the cable should click. i would think that this truck should have the 700r4 tranny

Speedometer does not work 1991 GMC Sierra 2500

the turbo 350 doesn't have a output speed sensor like the trans that came with the truck orginaly. You will have to use a cable to drive a pluse generator,or switch the tail shaft housing with a 700r4e housing of the same length, and use the speed sender from the 700r4e or early 4l60e. note the tail shaft is the same splines but the 350 shaft detent hole my not line up with the relucture ring. therfor the output shaft needs to be change to, or have a relucter ring made.

89 chevy 2500 silverado

that was old school , vehicles with the turbo 400 transmission are equipped with an ECM controlled downshift system , when vehicle is at speeds below 70 mph a forced (detent) downshift is possible by fully depressing the accelerator ,when the ECM detects a drop in manifold vacuum (high map sensor reading) the downshift control relay is energized by the ECM , the relay detects battery voltage to the detent solenoid in the transmission to open open an oriface to force the transmission to downshift ..... if yours is not working i would first check the downshift relay , under hood , picture is so bad i can't tell , looks like on the firewall more to the passenger side , next to fuel pump relay , if it needs more diag than that maybe you should get an estimate for repair from a trans shop or such , hope ya fix it , cheers .
