The first 3 jugs of water was fine.the next two sucked in and the last jug leaked all of the floor after in sucked down to 6 in what change ?

Your water pump may have a bad bearing. There is a weephole that allows fluid to trip out when the bearing is bad. Check all hoses. The heater core may be damaged.

ok check these things #1 check for leaks at the radiator #2 water pump for leaks#3 check for freeze plug leak#4 check to see if your cooling fan works#5 check to make sure the water jug is not leaking#6 fill the radiator with water then start your engine and try to see if you can tell if the water flows,if its not flowing check the thermostat,now you can check the thermostat by putting it down in some boiling hot water if while in the hot water it contracts its ok but i would replace it because it is work to go back to do so,check your radiator cap also,now if the fans are the problem then you should change the coolant temp sensor for the fans ,now i hope after making these check you will be able to solve the problem

No my alero is overheating. I have replaced the thermostat and waterpump and put a new cap on reservior and im losing coolant out the overflow

I replaced my radiator on my 2004 with a 2.2 and it seems like the thermostat is not opening. It can not get the air out. It seem to just to over heat and push the coolant out. Randy

TO BLEED COOLANT SYSTEM FIRST YOU NEED TO ADD COOLANT TO THE COOLANT OVER FLOW JUG UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL STOP DROPPING AND STAY AT FULL COLD MARK.WAIT 3 MINUTES IF COOLANT DROPS ADD MORE COOLANT UNTIL COOLANT STAY AT FULL COLD MARK.WITH RADIATOR OVER CAP OFF CRANK ENGINE FOR MINUTE WATCH COOLANT LEVEL AT OVERFLOW JUG.IF COOLANT DROPS ADD MORE COOLANT IN THE OVERFLOW JUG.WHEN COOLANT LEVEL STOP DROPPING IN OVERFLOW JUG.SCREW BACK ON THE RADIATOR CAP TO OVERFLOW JUG.WHILE ENGINE IDLING WATCH TEMPERATURE GAUGE WHEN TEMPERATURE START CLIMBING TURN OFF ENGINE WAIT A WHILE KEEP FROM GETTING SCALDED.WHEN COOLANT COOL DOWN SOME. My sunfire overheats and leaks out overflow everytime i drivee it.i changed water pump,thermostat the fan is working fine and had a water pressure test done last mth


DID YOU BLEED AIR OUT THE COOLANT SYSTEM.TO BLEED COOLANT SYSTEM, FILL THE COOLANT SYSTEM THROUGH THE RESERVOIR TANK OR THE RADIATOR UNTIL THE FULL COLD MARK IS REACHED.BESURE TO USE 50/50 HALF WATER AND ANTIFREEZE.YOU CAN BUY ANTIFREEZE THAT IS ALREADY PREMIX 50/50.AFTER ADDING ANTIFREEZE TO RESERVOIR OR RADIATOR FILL RADIATOR TO FULL MARK OR IF YOU DONT HAVE RADIATOR CAP ON RADIATOR POUR ANTIFREEZE IN THE OVERFLOW JUG UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL STAY THE FULL COLD MARK.WAIT AWHILE UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL STOP DROPPING.NOW INSTALL THE RADIATOR OR OVER FLOW JUG CAP.START THE ENGINE AND ALLOW IT TO RUN UNTIL NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE IS REACHED AND THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE BECOME HOT.STOP THE ENGINE AND OBSERVE THE COOLANT LEVEL IN THE OVERFLOW JUG. THE COOLANT LEVEL SHOULD BE AT THE FULL HOT LINE.ALLOW THE ENGINE TO COOL UNTIL THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS REACHED THEN CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL IT SHOULD BE AT OR ABOVE THE FULL COLD LINE.ADD MORE COOLANT IF NECESSARY. Coolant tank leaks out but no puddle or drip can be found been in the shop twice loses heater when filled up heater works fine has there been a recall on this or is this a bad sign of the motor failing


You most likely have a crack in the coolant overflow jug (tank). The jug is a 2 piece plastic unit that is seamed in the center and they always crack at the seam. Sometimes it will not show up when pressure tested the system, you need to remove the jug, wipe it down, fill it with water and check for leaks

Radiator want stay full of water or antifreeze has plastic jug on fender weld


Is there a leak somewhere? There should be green or pink fluid on the ground if there is. The plastic jug is often called the overflow this has level marks on the side of it for when the vehicle is hot and cold, cold is at the bottom end of the jug. The purpose of these marks is so you can see the levels without having to open the radiator. When the engine is cold open the radiator, start the motor and look into the radiator there should be coolant at the top of the opening. If not add coolant while engine is running, note if it's pink it's the DEX/Cool, if green any over the counter coolant will do. Add until the level hits the top of the opening. Let the engine heat up and check the level again. If it's full put cap back on and note the level in the overflow jug. If engine is hot level should be at the top mark, be sure to NOT fill the jug to the very top as it needs the space to expand for any over flow from the radiator.
The system will pull extra coolant from the jug when it's cold and use it until the proper temperature is reached then it will "spit" the extra back into the jug. (that's why there are two lines 'hot' and 'cold') Never add water to the jug as it will cause the jug to crack if the outside temperature goes below freezing always add coolant/antifreeze.

NO SOUND LIKE COOLANT OVER FLOW JUG HAS A HOLE IN IT REPLACE IT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.

make sure you have 50/50 antifreeze and coolant.if its been awhile replace radiator pressure cap and thermostat.
