Where is the oil filter

If this engine is the 2.2 ecotech engine the oil filter is a internal cartridge filter located on the left side (driverside) of the engine right next to the intake manifold. There should be about a 3" black plastic cap that looks like the top is designed for a socket or wrench. The oil filter is contained below this cap on the ecotech engine.

My car is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am w/ the 2.2 ecotech motor in it . When I tried to star the car it was hard starting and once it did start ,it ran very rough and didn't have too much power . I had a friend...

Where are the spark plugs situated

I don't know what year your cavalier is but I am going to guess that you have 2.2 ecotech so in the center of the valve cover there is a plate with Ignition control module in it.It is fastened down with several 10mm bolts. The spark plugs are under that.
