Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Any suggestions? Tried to have indicators fixed 5 times now. Will just randomly stop working both left and right every 2-3 months. They sometimes just start working again or if I pull over, turn off car and start it again they start working . Auto electrician has put in 3 different flasher systems with no difference and says can't fix it unless it is playing up when he has the car.

We had a car that did that and finally my mechanic said he wanted to try something. He replaced all the wires going to that system. even in the steering wheel. It works now but it did cost me. He felt one of the connectors or wires was dirty or broke just enough that it would then wouldn't work.

Lower R/L brake lights and cruise control stop working at the same time

Well before you listen to all these people and do all kinds of crazy random replacements I'd suggest the very simple very easy solution of checking the fuse. If the fuse is bad it's a 3 dollar replacement. If that doesn't work I'd replace all the bulbs, more expensive but cheaper than the control switch. If that is bad it's also a fairly easy fix but a little more pricey.

Indicators, headlight, high beam, Heater showing strange behavior. Can you please suggest what could be the possible reason for it . BCM or Multi Function switch?

Hooking up an OBD2 reader will tell you right away if the BCM is shot or BCM. Take it to advanced auto or O'Riley's they will hook up a an OBD2 reader and tell you. Sounds like a faculty PCM and BCM to me or just faulty PCM since you've replaced the Body Control Module already.

2008 Kia Optima turn signals/brake light won't always work

This is probably a bad earth connection, Try checking the connection to the rear light cluster for corrosion around the wiring plug, remove it and clean the connections, also check the bulb fittings, clean and replace bulbs into the holder. This is normally where the problem is, and could be due to water getting into the rear lights, good to check for this too.

Hi Everyone, I have a 2009

Bad grounded,u must ceck the signal (12V on the dash, empiric u can do it with a bulb and a wire, ceck every wire terminal under the dash instrument also the terminals from the back breaklight, eliminate the hipotese of a bad grounded instalation).Bad plugs (cleaning spray also helps).Main fuse/relay under the hood.Best guess:ceck the alternator charge rate can be overcharging making the bulbs /fuses/relays get burned.Inspect battery for acid over (overcharge signal).Ceck link alternator/starter/motor to chasis ground.Cheers, hope u deal the problem, let others know.

My 2000 Ford Windstar LX is randomly losing all power & shutting down for 2-5 seconds while driving. Everything stops working ( like theres no battery in the car ), then it comes back and starts right...

If you just had your battery replaced recently before that, Either your positive or negitive terminal is probably loose and needs tightened. It may get jarred around, and do that shutdown your 2-3 times, until something jars it to a better connecting position.
