This type of question always comes down to what is practical vs. what is possible. Typically, the way to install a manual transmission into a car with an automatic is to find the same model of car that came from the factory with the manual transmission and then swap over every relevant part. This approach is always fraught with complications. For example, the engine wiring harness, computer, motor mounts, pedal assembly, steering column, and even steering rack may all need to be changed (not to mention the axles, exhaust manifolds, starter, etc.). From what I can tell, the SXT was never offered with a manual transmission, which means that instead of finding parts from another car that already has a manual transmission, you will have to fabricate or adapt everything yourself.

If you are an excellent machinist/metal fabricator and have a lot of spare time and money, then you probably can swap a manual transmission into your car. Even at that, you would probably end up with a car that was never "quite right" in the way it drove after making the swap.

For what it's worth, if you asked a professional mechanic to do the job, he would probably either ask for a blank check or bid the job for 2-5 times what he thought it would actually cost just to discourage you from doing it.

After seing this done to a few cars let me tell you from the get go. Do not do this. Its not worth it at all. Sell it and get one with a manual. The mechanic has to cut a hole for the stick. Plum lines for the clutch. Plus you might need to find a computer for the stick shift version also since its one of those things that mechanics normally don't do; you wont be able to drive your car probably for a month.

With Much MODIFICATION YES, But I Would Not Advise this as The Vehicle is set up Ratio WISE for AUTOMATIC and The Differential Gear Ratio Will Have to Be Changed , This Would Rely on Whats Available ,and Not What You Would Technically Need There are Technical Aspects of this You May Not Even Wish to Venture Into.

You may want to try and pull fuse 11 or unplug the negative battery terminal for 10-15 seconds and reconnecting/inserting.  You can also try a key dance to check for an internal errors, im not sure if a window motor would throw any however.

This is not a common problem. But if I where you I would take it to a tranny shop to see if they can do a rebuild on the tranny. Some companies do some dont. Either way you should be covered under warranty to replace it
