2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L, oil leak ontop of engine, around and infront of oil fill hole.

Gasket/O-ring bad on the oil fill cap. The fan is throwing it around where you've found the excess.

Could be leaking from valve cover , or valves are not seated right. Though the piston rings . Or the seals on the valves are bad ( think there called o rings)

The dealer said my 2004 Chrysler oil sending unit was leaking around the vent tube. I paid $259.00 to have it fixed because the oil light came on too. The light is fixed, but it is leaking again. What is...

it's probably your valve cover gasket leaking. I would take it back to dealership and have them repair under warranty. If they want to charge you for something new, DON'T let them fix anything, look on the internet for a shop close to you with GOOD reviews and have them double check the cause.

2004 525, oil cap is leaking. DOes it suppose to have a gasket?

WHat I found is that there are two gaskets, one to seal the cap and one internally.. BMW sells the filter and O rings in a kit, which cost $13.00.

This fixed the problem.

Oil light fickers or stays solid when braking

I had the same problem on a 2002 Stratus. I also had a Diagnostics Code of P0455(EVAP leak). I replaced the gas cap and this fixed the problem. I don't know what EVAP leak had to do with the oil pressure light coming on, but the new gas cap fixed it.

Lease check and make sure that you replace with the right seal, that alone should have taken care of this problem. However if the valve cover gasket is loose or bad it will cause oil to leak around distributor are but NOT into distributor. This seal can be easily replaced by loosing 4 10mm bolts on top of valve cover. Contact if you need more help Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

740 Oil Cap Leaking, Lots of Oil

presuming the oil is coming from around the filler cap..theres usualy a rubber seal around the base, these can become brittle and break, sometimes quite a large piece (1/4 inch) can break off making a fair old leak from the oil splashing around from the cam, replace it with a NEW one, should cure problem

Low coolant

Hi, I would get other opinions, but it sounds to me like the water is getting into the oil system. This could be via a small leak in the head gasket, in the oil cooler (do you have one?) or somewhere else I can't think of. My best guess is that it is happening in the return side of the oil circulation system where the pressure is lower than that in the cooling system.

I would either read the label on the "stop leak" or speak with an experienced mechanic, or both, before using it. They might suggest running the engine with the coolant cap slack for a while to avoid pressure build up which might blow the stop leak into your oil system, with unpredicatable results.

When you have fixed the leak you might think about changing the oil or at least the oil filter. Hope this helps you a bit more.

Good Luck, D
