SOURCE: cavalier dies
you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.

Could be failed fuel pump. Disconnect fuel line at engine and turn over a couple times having something to catch gas in. If electric pump don't turn over engine, just turn key to run position for a few seconds. Maybe clogged fuel filter or faulty pump if no gas shows. Change fuel filter and try again. If none, change pump.

run a system trouble code test, most likely cause of this is a failed cranksahft position sensor. go to link.

my i suggest try looking at your fuel filter to make sure it's not clogged up. blow in the end where its hook up from the fuel line if you can't then that your problem. now if you can then it's your fuel pump.
