Hi,
The average power steering system holds approximately 2 US pints which is a little less than 1 Liter. Be careful not to overfill the system, as seal damage can occur. Best to add a little at a time, or if you have replaced system componets and drained the system completely, put in about 1/2 Liter (1 US pint) , start engine and work steering back and forth several times. Then add a little at a time repeating the process until the correct fluid level on resevoir dipstick has been achieved.
its used how much ?? thats 8 pints of oil which is about 5 litres in 3000 miles whats it doing leaving a blue haze behind it ,i think this engine needs looking at as this amount of oil consumption will kill the catalytic converter
CV joints should be packed with moly grease.
Less than 1/2 pint for both in total I would think. 500ml tub should be ok.
Normal grease can be used if you run out.
with filter just under 5 litres ,sorry forgotten what that funny measure stuff is as its been out of use since 1972 when the uk joined the common market ,wasnt a quart 2 pints or something ,but the us gallon was smaller than the uk one for some reason so i would allow 5 quarts ,just buy a 5 litre can of oil its easier to work out if we all use the same measurements
Try draining tank first if there is a drain plug. If no drain plug you will have to drop tank to empty it. Once tank is empty put in 2 gallons / 10 Litres of fuel and add a quart or 1 Litre of denatured alcohol or methyated spirits. The alcohol will mix with any water and consequently disperse through the fuel which will then be burnt normaly in the engine. When most of this mix is used up fill tank and add anothet pint of denatured alcohol to mix with any remaining water.
Best is to fill about 5 litres and start the vehicle. While idling fill oil in 500 ml incriments while checking the level in between. Each vehicle seems to have a mind of its own.I have had no experience with Comma oils. Most effective would be to replace the transmission filter at the same time and there will always be a little oil left in the tourque converter hence the high volume in your manual.
