Did you try your OBD tool in another vehicle ? Does it work ? What make , model and year vehicle . Check serial data line at the OBD2 DLC to the PCM . Tell us what make , model and year and we could tell you which wire and where is located in the PCM connectors . Maybe you code reader isn't any good .

No year make and model. I would guess the a computer has shorted and killed the data line. This would be a full car scan. If no computers could be scanned, then you'll need to find the bad one. Disconnect one at a time till you can read the others. If it is data lines or the computer. The full scan will read all the other ones. the others will pop a communication code to the suspected computer.

My OBD will not power up on a 2005 pontiac montana.

SP205 is a splice pack , taped to the wiring harness behide the dash near the OBD connector .

My OBD will not power up ? Code reader , scan tool ????? .Pin #16 at the OBD connector should have B+ voltage .This is what supply's B+ voltage to the scan tool / code reader . What makes you think you need a computer ? The computer doesn't supply B+ voltage to that OBD port ,.Do you know where the i/p fuse box is ? You want the CIGAR/DLC /APO FRT fuse 20amp . The other wires you mention above , don't mess with those . Those are the class 2 data bus wires .Screw with those and short one out , you will never get your vehicle started . Suggets you google GM class 2 serial data bus communications .

OBD II system not communicating with state inspection machine or scan tool! 2002 kia Sedona

Turn you ignition switch to the on position ,does the CK ENG Lite appear, if yes this is a good indication. Your DLC (diagnostic link connector) should have battery voltage at pin 16 and ground at 4 and 5,If you can verify that your vehicle has this working order then its there problem and not yours

Starts and runs good then suddenly ck eng lite come on and it dies. Will start back up with holding gas pedal on floor and die again soon...repeat...

Your vehicle is equipped wit the OBD!1 (on board diagnostic system ) when your check engine light turns on it is setting a code. You need to have it scanned to get this code. This will point you in a direction to your problem. When you place the accelerator to the floor you put the system in the clear flood mode which is allowing you to start but then the problem takes over and kills the engine.

My 93 4.0 ranger pings but only occasionally, I run premium gas and it still does it also sometimes the ck eng lite comes on when the ping is strongest then goes out later. what can I do? so am I...

see if you can get an OBD I scan of your system. It should have a record of the codes set. My guess is your crankshaft sensor is acting up. If you let it ping too much, it can damage your pistons.
The OBD connector is by the relay box under the hood. It is marked EEC TEST.

I have a 99 intrigue and my ck eng abs trac off and service eng lights all came on while driving? car is running fine

OK, the abs traction control lights are usually turned on when there is a problem sensing speed in any of the 4 wheels of the vehicle.

The speed sensor in the wheel hub or this area may be the culprit.

I'm not sure why the service engine light would go on at the same time, though, unless there's a problem with computer.

I would try to hook the OBD-II computer up to a scanner for ABS Brakes using an Actron Brakescan tool, for instance to try to get plain english descriptions and numerical codes to try to narrow down the problem.

A regular OBD-II Engine Scanner won't tell you about the ABS brake problem, though, but might shed light on the check engine problem.

So you need 2 separate scanners to diagnose the problem.

Good luck on this diagnosis and repair.
