The fuel pump is 8 or 9 years old now, and that's about the average life span of those pumps. Just by turning the key to on should cause the fuel pump to turn on for 2 seconds. This is to prime the fuel lines and the engine with gas, so it will be easy to start. Do you hear the pump buzz on for that 2 seconds when key is turned to on, not start? If you don't hear it, then probably a failed pump, but of course you can't rule out the possibility it is a fault in the pump circuit. That is why mechanics will test the pump or at least the wiring to the pump before condemning the pump and having to remove the old one. Yours should be fairly easy to access through an access panel in the trunk, or under the rear seat. You get access to the top of the fuel tank, where you can remove the pump module assembly. And that is what you replace, is the module assembly.
The filter would be found underneath the car. Just follow the fuel lines from the tank towards the engine. One is the feed line, the other is the return line from the engine to the tank. The fuel filter will be in the feed line, the pressure line from the pump in the tank to the fuel rail on the engine. The filter is on this line.

clean the idler on the intake and also clean the throttle sensor, it would also be best to change the air filter and clean the maf sensor. Idler does more than just idle vehicle it controls low revs, and drop down from reves. throttle sensor tell ecu what air to add to the fuel. and the MAF tells ecu how much air is coming into the intake. also check for broken cracked vacuum lines.

1996 v6 chevy silverado idles fine but once you hit the throttle it's as if it's not getting enough fuel. Any suggestions? Catalytic converter maybe?

run fault codes and look for throttle position sensor problem. cat converter problems are apparent at high RPM's under load as the cat converter blocks the exhaust pipe.

My 94 talon 1.8 ltr non turbo bogs down when I try to accelerate why is this happening

Likely a fuel issue. Are you getting a check engine light? If so get codes checked. Could be an o2 sensor, MAF sensor, cat converter, clogged fuel or air filter, clogged injectors. If there is no check engine light, I would recommend cleaning throttle body, and getting a high end injector cleaning at the same time the fuel filter is replaced. Anything else should issue a code with your computer.

97 Tbird 3.8l will run with the air intake tube removed, as so as i put it back on it shuts off like it is not getting air. I have replaced the maf sensor, air filter, vacuum lines, crank sensor, coil...

Hi Iler, have you replaced the air cleaner element and the fuel filter? Take it for a scan and that will pin point the problem. It would seem to me there's a problem with the air flow sensor. Regards Johngee10

We changed the oil and oil filter, changed the air filter, changed the fuel filter, changed the spark plugs, and put injection cleaner in our 1994 Ford Explorer Limited and we are getting horrible fuel...

Clean the throttle plate-CRC Throttle Body Cleaner
Clean the MAF Sensor--CRC MAF Cleaner

Have the O2 Sensors tested

If it is 10 years old, the exhaust
converter may be plugged,that's
not good and shouldn't happen

Check for vacuum leaks
A leak causes the O2 Sensors to add fuel,
to account for extra air

Make sure the air filter box and ALL
Ducting to throttle is air tight
